*I have nightmares each week about that Friday in may.*
The day you caught him with another girl at the other side of the party. Not just any girl - it was Izzy. Izzy, the girl he told you to never worry about. He begged you to stay, told you it was nothing.
Your undying love, now you hold it like a grudge* - but every time you try to move on, he always pulls you back. *But you know you can't let it go, you've tried and tried for so long.
There you are, walking through the dimly lit streets in the pouring rain - it was the only feeling you have felt, ever since you saw him with her. You should feel relieved, you should forgive him. But *you hold onto every detail* of him *like your life depends on it.*
The sound of your boots hit the wet pavement along with the rain - it wouldn't stop, and neither would your thoughts. Of course, they were all about *him*.
Your thoughts get cut short when his car pulls up next you. You didn't even have to look up to know it was his.
you groaned softly knowing that this was gonna be a very draining conversation
"Get in the car." he said, not as a please or a want. he was expecting you to get in the car
because it's the truth, that's how your guys relationship "was.". you would do things for him no matter what
You shut the door behind you, immediately getting hit with a familiar scent of his that only brings comfort.
"You can't just ignore me forever y/n." He was right, it had been a few weeks now since you saw him with her. You'd ignore his calls, his messages - asking for forgiveness.
"And you can't just show up and expect me to forgive you." You let out a scoff, your eyes glued to the road in front of you to avoid his gaze.
"Baby, I've said this multiple times" he sighs before speaking again. "She's nothing to me. Nothing but a mistake."
He tries to get you to look at him but you still avoid his gaze. "You can't keep holding this *grudge* from me."
"*I doubt you ever think about the damage that you did.*" You were holding in your tears.
"*I hold onto every detail like my life depends on it.*" He spoke up, quietly. "I just need you to forgive me."
The rest of the journey was painfully silent. The only sound was the engine turning off as he pulled up to your house before turning to look at you.
"was it worth it?" you said out of the uncomfortable silence as you looked over at him
"was it worth possibly losing me for good?" you spoke with a tear in ur eye as you watched the color from jeys face drain
"baby cmon. y'know it's not like that" he said as he focused on pulling the car over and looking over at you
"I'm trying to say that I'm sorry and you won't let me" he spoke with a hint of deep sadness in his voice
"because it's not all easy as you think jey!" you yelled but caught your tone
"you think it's easy for me to sit across from you like not even a month ago, i caught you with the one girl you told me not to worry about?" you bit the inside of your lip before unbuckling your seatbelt
"you lost me the moment you kissed her" your tone evident very brittle as you slammed the car door shut getting out
you walked away from his car, as tears streamed down your face and the evident sounds of him calling for you mixed with the smell of the rain
