Chapter 12: Your traces that won't heal

Huening Kai was tossing around in bed.

He couldn't sleep that night, especially after what happened the night before.

Huening Kai has always spent his days searching.

Searching for his true purpose.

Huening Kai knew that his older brothers had already found theirs. Soobin didn't want to own their mother's business and Taehyun wanted it...

But Huening Kai wasn't sure if he wanted it at all...

And it all changed when he met Beomgyu.

The wolf was an unassuming beauty that accepted all of Huening Kai's quirks, which nobody else has ever done before.

Huening Kai felt himself be understood by at least one person in his life.

When his older brothers gave him to the wolves as an exchange for finding a dead body, attacked by a vampire, Huening Kai was scared at first. But then he met Beomgyu and he found a new world...

"So, your name is Huening Kai? A unique name, indeed." - Beomgyu said matter of factly.

"Yes, and you are Beomgyu?" - Huening Kai asked back.

"Yes. The one and only."

"You really are a werewolf?"

"Yes, what else do you think I am? Like, I'm literally leading you to the wolf village, right now..."

"Yeah. I just wanted to make sure. By the way, unlike the way my mum would always describe werewolves, you're not scary at all. In fact you are quite pretty..."

"Am I now? Cool to hear from you, a witch. Creatures that our elders always tell scary stories about. Do you really eat hearts?"

"No, that's gross. I've never heard of any witches that do that!"

"Oh, our leader omega has always told me that they do that. His alpha's heart was almost devoured by a witch once..."

"His alpha?"

"Yes. Our alpha leader. Jungkook. My Yeonjun's dad."

"Do you know the witch's name?"

"No. Why do you ask?"

"No reason..."

"You do not look like your brothers at all? Honestly, none of you look alike?" - Beomgyu asked Huening Kai.

They were in the wolf's room, sitting at his bed, wondering what to do.

Beomgyu was made to watch over Huening Kai, a task he didn't want, but when we found out that he is Taehyun's little brother, he accepted.

He figured that he could use Huening as a way to ask questions about Taehyun, since he knew nothing about and even though it's been 10 years since their last encounter, he still felt a desire for Taehyun, deep inside.

In Beomgyu's wolf's opinion, Taehyun was just playing hard to get...

And Beomgyu's wolf was happy, because it liked a chase...

"You are right about this, Hyung... Me and Taehyun do have the same father, though..." - Huening answered Beomgyu's question.

"Who is it, if you don't mind me asking?" - Beomgyu pushed on.

"No, I don't mind. But I just can't tell you..."

"Why?"

"Because, I too don't know my dad's identity."
