After leaving Joshua and Stacy, Ulysses head to the library or atleast tries to. He gets lost in the halls of Beacon.
Ulysses: *grumbles to himself* The Divide wasn't nearly as confusing as this place.
He walks the academy and finds himself in the courtyard.
Ulysses: This is not the library.
He walks through a revealing that he somehow ended up in the cafeteria kitchen. He then ends up in a janitorial room.
He ends up walking past the combat class where he spots Goodwitch at her desk. She looks up from her work and sees him.
Goodwitch: Good afternoon, Ulysses.
Ulysses: Miss Goodwitch.
Goodwitch: Is there something I can help you with?
Ulysses: Yes, I am looking for the library.
Goodwitch: Ah yes. The school's layout is rather confusing for those new here. Follow me.
Goodwitch gets up from her desk and heads out the class with Ulysses next to her. They walk for a few minutes when Goodwitch speaks to Ulysses.
Goodwitch: So Mr Ulysses, how are you handling life here?
Ulysses: It's... different.
Goodwitch: How so?
Ulysses: There is no shadow of the Old World here. Instead of humanity fighting each other you're fighting creatures of darkness. There's also the fact everything is so clean.
Goodwitch nods as they near the library.
Goodwitch: Well here is the library. Let me know if you need anything.
With that Goodwitch walks away with her heels clicking as Ulysses enters the library.
Ulysses: Let's see. Fiction, Study guides... ah History.
Ulysses grabs several history books and finds a desk to read them at. Several hours pass and Ulysses' attention is brought to Dr Oobleck who comes up to him.
Dr Oobleck: Ah, how delightful it is to see someone else who appreciates history.
Ulysses looks at the Dr with a raised eyebrow.
Ulysses: You're not talking at your usual pace. Why?
Dr Oobleck: Convenience. I find that if I speak fast then the students atleast try to pay attention so as to not miss anything.
Ulysses: Interesting tactic. Though it shouldn't surprise me.
Dr Oobleck: Tell me. What is history?
Ulysses: Depends. History could be lessons to be learnt, events long distant, reminders of mistakes...
Dr Oobleck: Ah, a rather philosophical view. I've been meaning to ask you about this "Courier" you know.
Ulysses: I don't believe I spoke about them around you.
Dr Oobleck pushes his glasses up and smiles.
Dr Oobleck: No, you didn't. But my job as a historian means I am to pick up one's history.
Ulysses remains unfazed
Ulysses: How?
Dr Oobleck: Intuition and observing one's actions. And also I might have overheard you mention them to Mr Graham and Miss Six.
Ulysses nods.
Ulysses: Very well, I suppose it wouldn't harm to share some history. What is it you would like to know?
