Her phone buzzed on the nightstand as she had just placed the Qur'an back in its place.

The phone was picked up by her and placed near her ear.

"Hello? As Salaam o Alaikum, Dr. Osama."

"Dr. Amna, it's an emergency. I couldn't page you as you were not at the hospital." A rushed, heavy voice was heard from the other line.

She checked the time and it was—5:48...

"I'll be there in a few minutes." And there her rushing starts.

Grabbing her clothes, she got dressed, grabbed her dupatta and purse before leaving the room and making her way downstairs.

The house was silent, everyone was still asleep, some probably praying, but despite that, it was still quiet.

Not to make a lot of noise, she slowly opened the front door and exited the house, closing it silently behind her. Later, her car was on its way to the hospital.

Life of a surgeon.

"Excuse me..."

"Ji?"

[ Yes? ]

"Humari aj Dr. Amna ke Sath appointment thi..."

[ We had an appointment with Dr. Amna today. ]

"Let me check."

The receptionist's head raised back up. "Name - surname?"

"Rizwan Ahmed."

Typing in the name in the system, she looked back up, "Ji, AP ki appointment Dr. Amna ke sath Nahin, Dr. Moiz ke Sath hai." replying politely.

[ Yes, your appointment is not with Dr. Amna but, Dr. Moiz. ]

His brows were raised in skepticism. "Lekin, Meri Doctor to Dr. Amna Hain..."

[ But, my doctor is Dr. Amna... ]

"Ji, magar woh Kuch zyada busy hone ki wajah se extra patients Nahin afford kar saktin. Isi liay unhon ne AP ka case Dr. Moiz ko transfer kar dia tha." She explained patiently.

[ Yes, but she couldn't afford extra patients because she's very busy. That's why she had your case transferred to Dr. Moiz. ]

"Ok-"

"Kya hum un SE mil sakte hain?" His wife interrupted.

[ Can we at least meet her? ]

"Ji Nahin, woh abhi aik emergency main masroof hain." The answer was simple.

[ No, she is busy with an emergency right now. ]

"Ji, boht shukria." Rizwan Ahmed replied, taking his wife with him to the cabin they've seen several times passing by her cabin.

[ Ok, thank you very much. ]

They understood everything. Every reason. Everything was clear. She didn't want them. Not even as her patient. After all, what their son did was not a small thing to begin with.

...

Approaching the front desk, she leaned slightly forward. "Dania," she called softly to the receptionist.

Her head raised as she stood up.

"Ji? Khairiat Dr. Amna? AP Kuch zyada hi thaki hui lag Rahi hain." Her concerned voice stated.
