My Beautiful Flower (Kaoru x Reader)

Chapter 15: Confession

You woke up to the sound of your alarm clock, you grogily stretched your arm out trying to hit the alarm clock. No luck. You groaned and lifted your head, sending glares to your alarm clock. You pressed the little knob on your alarm clock to successfully turn it off.

You swayed over to your dresser and pulled out the pasty yellow dress. You put a piece of bread in the toaster. You walked back into your room and sighed as you eyed yourself in the mirror. You tried putting your hair in a ponytail. Nope. You tried again, but with a bun. Ugh. You tried again with pigtails. *Sigh*. You decided to just keep it down. You quickly brushed it and checked the time. '7:49' You ran into your kitchen and grabbed the, partially burned, piece of toast. You ran out the door and sprinted to school.

~Lots of Running~
You reached the school's entrance placing your hands on your knees and panting. You regained yourself and ran to your class blocking out all the stares you were receiving. The bell rang, once you stepped into the classroom, you smiled to yourself in accomplishment. You took your seat, in front of Haruhi, as the teacher walked in, placing his books and papers on his desk.

Exams were about a month away and you wanted to do good. On previous exams you didn't do so great, that was before you met Haruhi though. She helped you study and taught you studying techniques, before that Jeno would help you, but he wasn't the greatest teacher either. He was always to easy on you and when you got something wrong he would keep encouraging you to try your best, he was just afraid of hurting your feelings.

~Class~
Class was about over, so you turned around to face Haruhi. "Haruhi, do you understand any of this?" You crossed your arms on the back of your chair, your head sinking into your arms.

She looked up from her page of notes. "I'll help you when it's closer to exams, that's when the Host Club is closed."

You sighed and stretched out your arms above your head.

"Are you gonna come to the Host Club today?" The twins ask.

"I don't know," you answer trailing off.

"Please, it's no fun when you're not there," they whine.

'I don't even do much there.' "Maybe next time."

"Please come. We won't bite."

You knew they wouldn't give up unless you did. "Fine, I'll come," you mumble.

The bell rings and they give you a big grin. They hook their arms with yours and run out of the classroom, literally dragging you behind them. Suddenly they stop, you look up at them. They seem to be discussing something. The only words you could make out were talk, today, and study. They both look down at you which made you tense up. They both unhook their arms from yours.

"I'll see you later, Kaoru," Hikaru coos.

"Bye Hikaru, I'll miss you," Kaoru exclaims giving his brother a hug.

"And I'll miss you, dear brother."

'Jeez. What's going on?'

As soon as Hikaru was out of sight Kaoru turned towards you. "Shall we go."

You tilt your head. "What? Aren't we going to the Host Club?"

"I'm going to help you study!"

"What?"

"What? Do you not think I can do it." His face falls, giving you a frown.

You immediately feel bad. "No that's not it. Why are you helping me?"

His smile returns. "It'll be fun!"

"Fun? Studying?"

"Yup!" He grabs your hand and drags you towards the entrance. 'I do need help with studying so it can't be that bad.'

You walk inside your house and tell Kaoru that you're going to change into some house clothes.

--Kaoru's POV--
(Y/N) skips to her room leaving me in her small living area. 'Ok Kaoru you can do this. You're only gonna help her study.'

I quickly remember the conversation I had with Hikaru after I helped (Y/N) out with those guys.

~Flashback~
"So Jeno still likes (Y/N)," Hikaru says sitting on his bed watching me pace around our room.

"Yeah can you believe that."

Hikaru smirks. "Uh oh someone is jealous~" he teases.

I feel heat rise to my face. "Am not!"

"Kaoru," Hikaru says softly, "your face looks like a baboon's butt." He laughs.

"Whatever. Maybe I like (Y/N), so what."

"Kaoru, come on. You can do it. I have a feeling (Y/N) likes you too."

That made me blush even more. "I just love the way her (h/c) bounces as she walks and how her (e/c) light up when she's happy and her smile is so bright and full of life." Hikaru smiles to himself as I just realized how I really felt towards (Y/N).

~Flashback Over~
(Y/N) walked out of her room wearing a (f/c) t-shirt and some jeans.

"Ok let's get started," she says sitting down beside me.

Normal POV
Kaoru was pretty good at teaching. He helped you with english and history, but science and math weren't his strong points. Most of the time he would goof around making you laugh instead of actually teaching, but he still helped a lot.

Kaoru's POV
'I love her laugh. I love how determined she is to pass. I love how she furrows her eyebrows when she's thinking. I love how she would scoot closer to me to observe the paper better. I love the way she smiles when she gets something correct. I love everything about her. I even love how she holds her pencil.'

Normal POV
You check the time, '6:38.'

Your stomach makes the weird whale noise. "Wanna get something to eat?"

"Yeah. I'm starving." Kaoru says sinking into the couch.

You gather all your books and notes and throw them in your room. "Ok, let's go."

"But I don't wanna get up," Kaoru whines laying on the couch.

You laugh and grab both his hands. "I'll help you then." You tugged his arms, but he wouldn't budge. "Jeez." You turn away, but you couldn't move. You turn back around and see Kaoru still has a hold on your hands. "Kaoru?" You tilt your head, "are you ok?" He suddenly pulls you forward, you trip and fall right on top of him.

"(Y/N)..." he wraps his arms around your shoulders, securing you, so you couldn't move. Your ear was against his chest, so you could hear his heartbeat, it was fast.

"Kaoru? What are you doing?" Now realizing what just happened you turn a bright red. His grip tightened around you.

"(Y/N)," he repeated, his own face a bright red, "I...I love you."

Your eyes widen and your face darkens. You could still hear his heart pound against his chest, as if it was gonna pop out any second.

"I want you to be mine and mine only." He slowly sits up his arms still around you, your ear still against his chest. He rested his chin on your head. You didn't know what to say or what to do. You didn't even know what your feelings were or what you wanted. You lifted your arms and wrapped them around Kaoru.

This is what you wanted to stay like this forever. To be with him forever, but you knew that you didn't want to fall in love. You couldn't fall in love. You promised you wouldn't and you were afraid to, but for right now this, this was perfect.
