Chapter 17: Hero

You woke up smiling, it was Friday and you felt better about the upcoming exams.

~Flashback to Last Night~

You clutched your stomach as it growled. You hear a small sigh, you turn and see Kaoru trying to hold back his laughter.

Embarrassed you say. "What? Have you not been hungry before?"

Smiling he says, "Sorry (Y/N) I just found it really cute."

He used 'cute' to describe my growling stomach?

Realizing what he said his face turns red. "I-I mean not cute, I meant uh, you know..."

You try your best to not laugh at his embarrassment, but a snicker escapes your mouth. "Ha...I'm sorry...haha." His face turns into a brighter red.

You stand up and stretch. "Well let's go get something to eat." You grab your jacket and you help Kaoru clean up.

He calls someone to get us and drop us off at a food place. "Ok he should be here in around 10 minutes," he says shutting his phone and shoving it in his pocket. You stared at Kaoru, something was wrong.

He turns to face you, "Is something wrong?"

You study his face more and tilt your head. "Do you miss Hikaru?" This caught his attention, he stood there silently.

"Yeah," he whispers. A small, simpathic smile grew on your face.

"You guys are always together, huh?"

"Yeah. We always have been."

"Why don't you just go home? I'll just eat some ramen or pick something up at (fast food restaurant)."

"Are you sure, (Y/N)." You nod and give him a thumbs up. His driver appeared in front of the apartment building. You said a simple bye and see you tomorrow. He waved goodbye as he slipped into the limo. You leaned against your door as the limo drove away. 

~Flashback Over~

You were already out the door and on your way to school. You saw Haruhi walking in front of you into school. You ran up to her and grabbed her shoulders saying 'boo!'

"Oh hey (Y/N)."

Your eye twitched slightly. She was completely unfazed. Well that's Haruhi for you. You smiled not paying attention to where you were walking. "Uh (Y/N)?" You hummed in response and bang! You placed your hand on your forehead. "Ow!" You opened your eyes and saw people in the hallway looking at you, laughing. You blinked, you saw a door in front of you. Your face turned into a red so deep it cannot be explained. You hated attention, especially this kind of attention.

You laughed sheepishly and sprinted towards your classroom, avoiding all contact. Once there you buried your face in your desk. "Haruhi~" you whined. "Is there a mark?"

You lifted your head for her to see. "Nothing bad. Just a small red mark."

You had a feeling she was lying because once the twins entered the room they stopped in their tracks and stared at your forehead. "(Y-Y/N), did you print the Japanese flag on your forehead?"

They laughed their heads off. Rage filled your eyes, you stood from your seat and swayed towards them. "H-Hey we were only kiddi-" You swung your arm back and sent them flying across the classroom. "BAKA! I ran into a door for your information!" All the chatter in the room silenced, all eyes were on you and the twins. You stomped back to your seat and sat down, acting like nothing happened. 

"Oh Kaoru are you ok?~" you opened your eyes and saw Hikaru holding his 'dear' brother.

You saw tears form in Kaoru's eyes. "Hikaru~," he cried, "don't worry about me. Are you hurt?"
