My Beautiful Flower (Kaoru x Reader)

Chapter 16: Dream

"(Y/N) I love you. In the little time that I've known you, I fell in love with you," Kaoru says, squeezing you.  

"Kaoru I don't know what to say and, I can't really breathe," you say.

He releases you. You give out a huff of air and look up at him, he was staring back at you. "(Y/N), do you love me?"

What were you going to say? You didn't want to mess this up. You can't understand the feelings you were having right then, but you have to answer him. You turn to face Kaoru again, but he is gone. "Kaoru?" you look around, trying to find him. Suddenly the whole room turns dark. You heard a voice call out your name. "Huh? Kaoru?" You stand up and walk around, the room seemed never-ending. The darkness grew as you walked further and further into the empty room.

'What's going on? Where am I? Where the heck is Kaoru?'  

You hear the same voice call out  again, it was different from Kaoru's voice, you look around and see a dim light, you run towards the light and see a figure standing there. The voice calls out again, louder and louder as you ran towards the figure. When you reach it the room turns into a blinding white. 

"(Y/N)," the voice beckons, "come, let me see you."  You take a step closer and see the figure's face. 

"W-What," your voice trembles, "Mom?"

"Oh how you've grown, dear."

"Mother...wh-what's going on?" your eyes begin to water.

She chuckles softly. "My beautiful flower,"you run towards her, but then you see a girl run up to her, "you look so beautiful."

'Is that me....?'

The girl spins around showing off a white dress with flowers on the bottom rim of the dress. Your mother combs your hair back and smiles sweetly. Suddenly the doorbell rings and the girl jumps up and runs, shouting, "He's here! He's here!"

The clip fades and a flashy row of arrow points for you to go through a nearby door, you obediently follow the arrows into the door. 

Another clip plays. The girl runs down the stairs and towards the door. She pats her dress and hair down, and excitingly opens the door, revealing a boy and and older woman.

'I see this was the fifth grade dance. I was so excited, but that was also the same year dad died.'

"Jeno!" the girl, obviously you, exclaims, "You look great!" She (or you) showed him a big toothy grin. 

"H-Hi (Y/N)-chan you look awesome," he shyly says, blushing a bit. 

"Hehe thanks! Mom! Jeno is here~!" 

The clip fades and another row of arrows showed up. 

Your mother walks down the stairs with a man, oddly familiar, with a camera. "You guys look great! Let's get a few pictures!" She says motioning for you both to scoot closer together.

'So this is before the accident.'

You and Jeno took a couple dozen photos, "Moomm can we go now?"

She laughs, "Ok, ok remember to behave and have a fun time."

'I've missed her laugh.'

"Come on Jeno let's go!" You searched the room and saw your dad talking to Jeno, must have been strange because his face got all red. Your dad finished talking and Jeno followed you out the door. 

The clip ended and another row of arrows appeared. You walked in the next door and turned to face the screen.

"What was my dad talking to you about?" You ask walking along side Jeno.
