Priya's POV

That explanation didn't sit right with me. My employees knew better than to discuss a confidential project out in the open-especially not on my first day back.

Ayush, standing by the window with his arms crossed, let out a low hum. "She's lying." His gaze was still fixed on the door Yamini Bua had just walked out of.

I exhaled sharply, gripping the edge of my desk. "Of course, she is. But the question is-why?"

He turned to me, his expression unreadable. "There's only one way she could've found out. Someone inside told her"

My head snapped up. "You're saying there's a betrayer?"

"Or" he drawled, stepping closer, "she has other ways of getting information. Ways we haven't figured out yet"

A slow chill ran down my spine. Yamini Bua wasn't just interested in my project-she was after something. The question was, what?

I clenched my jaw. "Keep an eye on her, Rudra. I want to know the moment she pokes around again."

He smirked, tilting his head. "You're getting the hang of this, Jaaneman."

I rolled my eyes, but before I could reply, he leaned in slightly, dropping his voice.

" Mommy is mommying, huh"

His words hit a nerve. I shot him a glare, my voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Don't call me that."

Rudra's smirk widened as realization dawned. "Ah. You only want him to call you Mommy."

A flicker of something dark and possessive tightened in my chest. My fingers curled against the desk.

No one else. Just Adhiraj.

Ayush chuckled at my silence, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "Relax, Jaaneman. Message received." Then, with one last teasing glance, he walked out.

The moment the door shut behind him, I sank into my chair, my mind already spinning through possibilities.

And whatever it was, I needed to find out-before she made her next move.

The office felt too quiet once Ayush left. My fingers tapped against the desk, my mind working through every angle. Yamini Bua didn't act without reason-she was too calculating for that. If she had gone through the trouble of fabricating an excuse, it meant she was hiding her real motive.

I picked up my phone and dialed Naina, my assistant.

She answered on the second ring. "Ma'am?"

"I need a list of everyone who had access to the project details. Every single person."

There was a brief pause before she replied, "Understood. I'll have it on your desk in an hour."

"Make it thirty minutes," I said sharply. "And Naina?"

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Don't mention this to anyone."

I hung up and leaned back, exhaling.

I didn't believe in coincidences. Not in business, and certainly not in my family. If Yamini Bua had gotten her hands on information, someone had fed it to her. And that meant there was a traitor in my own.
