Chapter : 52 {Reunion}

Y/n's POV :

I walked out of the hall, the air filled with a sudden smell I had recalled from long ago

"I should not had ran away" I breathed

.. But then I recalled Kidd's smile again, as a deep breath came from inside me, waiting to ve released since forever

"I.. Should go back" I motivated myself, we entered the party together, it will be a good space for rumors if we were seen apart by now

I began walking back, the thin golden curtain of the veranda bluring my view a little, someone was there, coming in, which I didn't pay much attention to

I removed the curtain with my hand, my red bracelet shining brighter because of the curtains highlighting them

As rhe curtain removed, the other figure on the opposite side suddenly became more and more clear

As they revealed themselves--
A black and blue coat, the raven hair shining as bright as the day I met him, his eyes staring down at me and his grumpy face, the freckles still there, maybe a few more than the past, the King of the Biggest Nation was here, face to face, opposite to me

Removing the same curtain I was touching, his hands on mine

Songs playing in the background, the distant hues

I looked up, an unexpected word came from inside me without me even realizing

“Ace”

"Ace" Another call, but this time, not my voice, not from my lips, it was from some else, someone behind him,

"Ace?" She spoke again, breaking the moment into a thousand pieces, her voice felt like how close they were

I removed my hand from under his, removing the curtain altogether, I peeked behind the man whom I love

My eyes almost widened but I managed to hold my ground

Yamato peeked towards us from behind Ace, her black and blue dress dazzling through the place

"M-" As Yamato had noticed who's in front of her by now, she got into position real quick, distancing herself from Ace, to bow down to me

"My Lady!" She bowed, very unflatteringly, maybe the rumors were true, maybe she really acts like a man

Ace was still very much in awe by my existence, however failed to bring out a word

His face screamed displeasure? Annoyance? I don't know anymore

I turned back at the lady "Good evening" I bowed, short and simple

"I didn't think I will get to meet you so soon" Yamato continued
"Oh m--" Before I could reply back, someone held onto my shoulder from the side, why so many unexpected surprises in a day?

"You are late!" Kidd threw a tantrum, making my attention divert back to him

"Well I am sorry I needed some fresh air" I answered back, annoyed by his clingyness

"Then come let me take you to the upper balcony!" He offered laughting, making me sideye him more

"I won't want to fall to my death at such an early age will I?" I asked him back, he knows I was always scared of the upper balcony of his palace

I gained some chuckles from Kidd as he looked back at the real couple here

"Seems like you both also needed some fresh air!" He exclaimed out loud, I swear I could see Ace clench his teeth

"I will say so your highness, let me first introduce myself" Yamato gave a soft smile, acting like me and Ace ain't already ex fiances and everything is fine

"I am Yamato, Thedaughter of King Kaido, discipline of Oden, and the next queen of Grand Line" She bowed, making the both of us turn back to Ace, who was looking this whole time

"It's a pleasant evening ain't it?" Laughed Kidd himself, watching how Ace isn't talking at all

He remained quite, by now I feel like I am guilty of something , why tf isn't this bastard talking? I cried internally

"Mhm then, now if you guys will excuse us" Kidd as he saw Ace's childishness, just pulled me away from the awkwardness and dragged me back to the ballroom

I hope I don't meet them anymore

After the Party my family decided to spend the night here because of how late it was

"There are political partners here too, it will be beneficial to spend the time with them and getting close, I hope you both understood, Y/n, Killer. " Dad ordered both me and my brother

"Of course, I was even thinking of talking to miss Flampe in the morning, she is close to all the Charlotte siblings" I assured dad, least I can do is help him with politics this way

As I got up from bed at 3 at night, my maid in the castle told me about how many of the guests are still awake and are also busy making new relationships

I sighed as I unlocked the door, getting out of my room, my hallway of dark, probably because it was the married women's hallway, so they were too busy sleeping in while their husbands talked politics

I walked through the hallway, crossing the ladies counter to the men

As I walked more and more, I could hear someone following me

A weird deja vu came across my mind, the day when uncle Roger died

Suddenly my heart started beating fast and my breath shakey, should I run? No! Then he will for sure run towards me, and a man is supposed to win for sure, furthermore when he is a trained soldier

I stopped in my tracks, not letting the stalker guess my nervousness

"What do you want?" I finally spoke, gaining no reply in return

After a moment of silence,

I decided to turn around and fate it,

However before I could do as planned, the same question left my mouth again

"What, do you want?" I spoke, a little silence after the first word

"You" His grin could be felt even from facing the other way

His voice annoying and calming me at the same time

I frowned while Thanking god inside my heart

"Kidd!" I scolded the boy, finally turning around
