Chapter : 56 {Political Deal}

Y/n's POV :

"Will you be my date for tomorrow?"

"No" I replied, walking off, who was that guy anyways?

Who lets them even enter the halls? Who cares, this party is boring, Kidd is busy with his business partners and mom is busy with those ladies whom I don't wanna sit with

That damned brother of mine did promise to come be my partner for the night

"Kyaa!" And there he is, as I heard the girls flock over my brother, I slowly walked to him

"Never hard to find huh" I sighed, as he made his way to me

"It's hard being so popular" He fixed his hair, well I am used to this considering what type of psychos I used to encounter back at the palace

(The psycho in question was the duke's daughter hancock)

... "Not gonna lie but, you actually look good today" He spoke

"Oh my, thank you, Koala spend a lot of her lifeline into decorating me today" I chuckled, as he gave me his arm to hold on to, guiding me to the buffet table

"And the rest? did you get some marriage proposal somehow?" Ki teased making me turn away the other side

I know he is just joking however it hurts somewhere inside

I looked at the back, Ace standing arm to arm with Princess Yamato

And on the other hand, that guy is already getting married again

I stared at the matching outfits they wore, I stared at the little pinch Ace gave Yamato when she said something out of line

And I noticed the glance she took of him while he was not paying attention.

It disgusts me

And then all of a sudden I noticed his eyes on me, I must have stared too hard

"Please excuse me" I left Ki and ran for someone else

Someone to keep me occupied enough for me to not get the luxury of stalking Ace and his fiancée

I sighed

Kidd had taken the halls by a storm, he liked to be the center of attention, gaining the eyes of everyone in the room, he had also calling me as the diplomats from the other countries sat on the round set up table

Opposite to my sit is Yamato's, besides her, her Fiancée

"I don't think the trading will work with the current relationship we have the grand line" suddenly a voice spoke up, being in my daze I didn't realise they were already speaking about the trade deal

Why won't they? Its already past midnight

The dancing and drinking was over

"And why do you say so?" Ace asked, its the man whose daughter's wedding me and Ace went together to

The night we did all that, our first wedding together after our engagement

'That marriage was blessed by a royal couple who themselves weren't blessed' I whispered under my breath

"No matter the show, we all know the relationship between this country and our Grand line..." the man spoke

"After our king got divorced to the lady from this country, do you think a deal will be that easily accepted by anyone? Forget the nobles, who may, for show and profit, act to accept the deal, however will the ordinary people agree?! Especially when.. sorry to say, the lady was considered a villain by the time she left the country?!" The man pointed fingers, as I saw some other people nod their heads in agreement

Suddenly I saw Ace get up from his chair "please excuse me" he left, his steps angry, I know he didn't agree not arrange for any of this to be said

I am sure he was helpless in this situation

However, Princess Yamato kept her head held high, a small smile on her face, not backing away, I don't blame her, the words have weight here

"The ordinary citizens may start a riot, or even worst, may even starve themselves because of their blind devotion to the king"

"I am already hearing bad rumours about the new Queen because the King decided to come to this country for some festival—"

"And?" Finally Kidd interrupted, "your point is?" Asked Ki

The man, swallowing his own saliva, said the remaining words

"Our country, The Grand Line, may proceed with this arrangement if the lady of the ducal house steps away from the project"

Kidd slammed his hands onto the table,

"The country of Grandline lacks nothing, the Biggest empire of the world, however they seem to lack two things only" Kidd laughed out loud

"First, some brains on their heads" DID HE JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD?!

"Second, sea life and enough labours to keep things on per with their demands"

"Being the country in the middle of calm belts, you guys have pretty impressive fishes and creatures under the sea, however. No way to catch them for food, the reason? Too many sea monsters. It has made the fishes in your sea more hard and rare to catch, easy for the nobles to consume by just paying skilled people for it. However, thats something the common citizens cannot afford" kidd continued, no matter how dumb and monkey like he acts, he is a king after all

He knows what he is doing

"Thus the fishes are extremely overpriced and rare. Which, our kingdom can easily supply" Kidd added

"I know of no fool who will get to pay normal prices for such rare food and still choose to starve themselves over some silly little argument years ago" Kidd said out loud, the man, speechless by now, same as me not gonna lie

"My Y/n here, worked the hardest in this project, building easy pathways and transporting ways to transport this goods to your kingdom. If a deal ever happens. Y/n will be the head to handle it alongside your king" Kidd announced.
