Mommy noticed Ben huffing in exhaustion.
"You look tired, Sweetie. You probably need to rest. It's around 10 o'clock at night right now." Mommy said.
"I guess you're right." Ben said.
"Hey, Doey! We're going to rest for a little bit, are you okay with that?" Ben asked.
"Hoohoh, okay. I'll wait right here." Doey said.
They all started taking a nap. Ben was resting his head on Yarnaby's soft yarn mane. He lets out little puffing snores. A slight hint of noise caused Ben to awaken. He groans as he lifts his head up.
"Catnap?" Ben asked in a tired voice with his eyelids halfway open.
"Oh, sorry Tentails. Did I wake you up?" Catnap said.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" Ben asked, voice still exhausted.
"I'm usually nocturnal, I don't sleep during the night that much." Catnap said.
"Makes sense." Ben said.
"I'm a little bit worried about my friends. What if the Prototype did something bad to them?" Catnap asked.
Ben got up and sat next to Catnap on the Playtime crate.
"I get why you're worried, but Dogday and the others are going to be fine. When they came back to life as one of the Ruined Critters, they were able to fend off the Prototype's control, that shows how strong they are. And besides, they're able to transform into the monstrous body form like you do." Ben said.
"Yeah, you're right." Catnap said.
"You know, I've never been or seen the outside world before." Catnap continued.
"You never left the factory?" Ben asked.
"All of us haven't. Only our product toys are allowed because humans usually buy them and give them a new home. But they're not alive like us. So they don't get to feel the experience. Playcare and Home Sweet Home is the only thing close to the outside world." Catnap said.
"Wait, Tentails. You're from the outside world, correct?" Catnap asked.
Ben nods.
"What's it like out there? Is it just like Home Sweet Home or completely different?" Catnap asked.
"Well, it's similar. The trees are made out of wood instead of plastic. The temperature is different depending on what season it is. Like it snows during the winter." Ben explains.
"What's snow?" Catnap asked.
"It's basically when water vapor in the atmosphere when it's cold." Ben explains.
"And the air feels great when it's summer. And during those times is where my grandfather takes me and my cousin to road trips when I was younger. And one of those summer trips is where I got the Omnitrix." Ben continued explaining.
"Must be nice." Catnap said.
"Hey, maybe after the Prototype is defeated. I'll let all of you to come with me when I go back to the outside world." Ben said.
"Really?" Catnap said.
"Of course, you're all my friends. I don't want you guys to stay in this rotting place of the rest of your lives. You can also join the Plumbers. And besides, it's New York. The people won't even care about 9 ft tall living toys on the streets. It's very different from when I lived in Tennessee." Ben said.
Ben sighed from nostalgia.
"I do miss living in Bellwood." Ben said.
Everyone started awakening from their nap.
"I guess it's time to resume our mission." Ben said.
They started following Doey, Ben goes through the doors to get past by the rubble. They finally caught up to him.
"Our generator's in a pretty bad state, so we try to keep the power off in here. But I'll turn it on for you guys, though. It'll open a door downstairs." Doey said.
"Great, thanks." Ben said.
"Oh, Doey, you're such a sweet gentleman." Mommy said.
Doey chuckled as he scratched the back of his head.
"Aw, shucks." Doey said.
They went downstairs from the hole on the floor. Doey handed Ben the battery. He holds it by his Grabpack. Ben puts it in and the gears started moving.
"Three of them are missing." Catnap said.
Daisy meows at Ben and points her paw at the gear on the toolbox. Ben picked it up.
"Is this one of them?" Ben asked.
"Mommy would assume so." Mommy said.
Ben puts it in.
"The other two have to be around here somewhere. Let me transform into Fluttermoth. Ben said as he twisted the Omnitrix.
Ben slaps the button and transformed into Fluttermoth, the psychic powered moth that he used in the beginning of his journey through Playtime Co.
"Not only Fluttermoth can move objects with telekinesis, but he can also can see through walls and detect certain objects between those walls." Ben said in a muffled like squeaky voice.
His compound eyes started to glow as he activates his X-ray vision. As he flies around his noticed the second gear behind the stack of boxes. He uses his telekinesis to move the boxes.
"These boxes are pretty heavy!" Ben exclaimed.
As he moves the boxes out of the way, he uses telekinesis once again to carry the gear. Yarnaby was able to find the last gear and Ben puts the gears on causing the door to open.
"I'll see you guys on the other side!" Doey said.
Ben transformed back.
"We're so close to getting to Safe Haven." Catnap said.
They went through a storage room.
"Hello again, Zero-tails!" Touille said as he blocks the door.
"Touille!" Ben exclaimed.
"Are you going somewhere?" Touille said as he lets out a squeaky chuckle.
"Yes, we are. Out of the way, you ratatouille." Ben said.
"Why the rush? We have all the time in the world." Touille said.
Ben groans in frustration.
"Dude, we seriously don't have time for this!" Ben said as he shifted his red hand to the orange hand.
He shoots a fire spark next to him.
"Ah! Fire! Ah!" Touille said as he ran away in fear.
Ben takes the first steps through the hallway then a flurry pink arm covered Ben mouth and yanked him. Ben let out a muffled yelp as he got yanked.
"Tentails! Daisy!" Catnap exclaimed.
Ben looked over and was shocked to see Kissy Missy.
Ben's muffled exclaimed were cut off by Poppy.
"Shhh, be quiet." Poppy whispered.
Ben nodded with Kissy still covering his mouth. Poppy noticed the other toys.
"Guys, get in here or else he'll see you!" Poppy whispered.
They also hide with them. Ben spotted a robotic arachnid passing by the hallway. Then it flexed its robotic fingers. Ben's eyes went wide in horror at the sight of its hand, recognizing it. As Ben recalled the memory of when the Prototype used his robotic hand to stab Ben, killing him temporarily. And that robotic hand was identical to the one he's seeing now. Ben's heartbeat started beating as he started hyperventilating.
