"Are you okay? You're not too anxious?" Haewon asked as she kept a tight grip on your hand while you followed the guards and the girls through the airport.

It was almost hard to hear her even though her voice was right in your ear because there was so much chaos happening around you.

The reporters were loud as they stayed close to the girls and the flashing lights were a little bright as they snapped several pictures every second.

Not to mention the fans, who were trying to get close to the girls, kept screaming at the top of their lungs.

You're trying to get used to this because dating Haewon brings along things like paparazzi and excited fans and you can get through it no matter what if it means getting to call her yours and being the one who has her heart.

But it's a lot.

Thankfully, Haewon is very understanding of that.

She knows it can be incredibly overwhelming sometimes and she swears that through all of the chaos, she'll keep you safe and help you through any anxiety or stress you may feel.

Such as now, as she holds your hand and keeps checking on you as you walk together.

"Yeah, I'm alright."

"Good." She replied, her lips pulled into a little smile. "We're almost there."

You just squeezed her hand to wordlessly tell her that you were going to be okay and you were just happy to have her there with you.

Soon enough, the girls and the security guards around you came to a stop so you could all check-in and board the plane.

With your passport in your free hand and Haewon's in hers, you were able to keep your fingers around hers.

You began to talk about the excitement you felt about traveling with her and the girls to LA for an upcoming event that the girls were attending and performing at.

Though the flight from Seoul to LA would be long, you knew you'd be able to handle it with Haewon by your side.

You laid your head on her shoulder as you both patiently waited your turn.

Things were calming down a little with only quiet voices and camera flashes being heard because everyone had caught up to all of you and could take a moment to take pictures and videos before you and the girls would board.

Haewon turned her head and looked at you adoringly before kissing your forehead.

She was just about to ask what the first thing you wanted to do when you got in LA would be considering the girls had a couple of days to explore and enjoy themselves before they got busy with their obligations.

But a couple of voices nearby caught her attention and not for good reasons.

"Why does she have to go everywhere with her? God, Haewon's girlfriend is so annoying."

"She's a total pain in the neck. I bet the girls are annoyed by her too. She's always by her side and Haewon is always bringing her up unnecessarily. Sometimes it feels so forced."

She was unsure if the fans were talking loud enough so she'd overhear or if they were unaware of how loud their voices were.

Either way, she didn't like what she was hearing.

"Not to mention, I feel like she could do so much better. Haewon is stunning. Her visuals alone are no joke. And then she goes and dates someone so unattractive. She's so hideous. I don't understand why Haewon would ever want to be with someone like that."

Haewon clenched her jaw and tried to keep herself from saying anything.

But it was getting harder and harder to hold back especially when the rude fans weren't considerate enough to do the same.

"I wonder what Haewon finds so attractive about Y/N. It sure as hell can't be her looks."

The fans laughed together while you just lowered your head.

All this time, she'd been hoping you hadn't heard what was being said but now that she knows you do and the words are clearly hurting you, even if only a little, she was furious.

"I hope they break up soon."

"They will. Give it time. Haewon will open her eyes someday, trust me."

Haewon turned around and looked at the fans in disappointment.

"I can't believe you'd say such horrible things about my girlfriend. You claim to be such big fans yet you can't even be supportive of my relationship or my happiness."

The fans were surprised that Haewon was talking to them, leaving them unable to say a single word.

"You know, it's okay if you don't agree with everything we do. But Y/N hasn't done anything to you guys. All she's done is make me happy. The fact that you can't even show her any respect tells me that you don't care about me at all."

One fan went to speak, only for Haewon to cut her off.

"Don't say it's not true. I'm happier than I have ever been and happier than I ever imagined I could ever be. I'm so madly in love and I can't imagine my life without Y/N. You don't have to be her biggest fan but you can't even respect her. You're calling her names while she's standing right here. If you can't respect her then please don't even call yourself a fan of mine. No true fan would ever talk about someone that means so much to me the way you are."

The fans looked as though they regretted the words they'd said.

But Haewon wasn't going to be so forgiving.

"We're not breaking up. If anything, our relationship is only getting stronger by the day. One day, we might even get married. She's not going anywhere so you better get used to that. Show her some respect. Don't ever talk about her that way again or do all six of us a favor and just stop supporting NMIXX. We deserve better fans."

With that, Haewon turned around and walked forward with her hand wrapped even tighter in yours.

You were so shocked that you could barely speak until you boarded the plane and took your seats together.

"What was that?"

"Me defending my lovely, beautiful girlfriend from entitled rude fans. I'm sick of people saying bad things about me or the girls or people important to us and never being able to say anything. But today, I couldn't hold back. They pushed things too far."

You gave her a kiss on her cheek and watched her eyes light up.

"I love you."

"I love you too. I'm never going to let anyone say things like that about you. We all work so hard and we deserve to be happy. I don't understand what's so hard about at least just showing respect to you. If they can't do that, they can find another group to support."

She looked over at the girls with a grin.

"Right, girls?"

"Definitely!" Jiwoo replied.

"Good for you for standing up for your girl." Lily smiled.

"Yeah, everything they said was so untrue. You never annoy us. We adore you." Sullyoon promised.

They all supported her on everything she'd said, agreeing that they deserved fans who supported them in every aspect of their lives, including their love lives.

You put your head on her shoulder again, feeling your eyes getting heavy since it was getting late and you had a long flight ahead.

"You have no idea how much you mean to me." You told her. "I don't know what I ever did to deserve you."

"I feel the same way, baby. I often wonder the same thing." She whispered as she played with your hair. "But I'll never let you go. I don't care what anyone says; you're my girl forever and always."

You turned your head to kiss her soft skin before letting yourself start to drift off to sleep, knowing that you were the luckiest girl on the planet.
