You tossed and turned in bed and groaned over the terrible ache in your stomach.
When it first began about twenty minutes ago, you blamed it on your anxiety that stemmed from your fight earlier with Haewon.
But then you remembered that when you left the restaurant tonight, your stomach had been aching then too and the food you ate hadn't sat right.
Along with your stomach aching, you felt very nauseated and you were sweating a lot too.
All you wanted was to be held by your girlfriend but she's sleeping in the guest room across the hall and you're not quite sure what to say to her after everything that happened just a couple of hours ago.
You rolled onto your back and brushed your arm across your forehead before sitting up and taking a few deep breaths.
It was only getting worse and you knew you were going to be sick eventually.
Despite everything that happened between you and Haewon a while ago, you needed her more than ever right now because getting sick is bad enough on its own.
Having to go through it without Haewon by your side sounded unbearable.
You knew you left the door unlocked because part of you had hoped all this time that she'd come in and sneak into bed with you before mumbling apologies against your skin as she gave you kisses.
"Haewon," You called out as you held your stomach.
You didn't hear the door open or her footsteps on the floor as she approached the bedroom so you knew she most likely hadn't even heard you.
"Haewon!"
This time, you heard her feet on the floor and the bedroom door opened a second later.
"Y/N? What is it?"
She turned the light on and rushed over to you as soon as she saw how uncomfortable and unwell you looked.
"I don't feel very great."
She put her hand on your forehead and frowned as she gazed at you.
"I think I might be sick."
"Okay, come on. Let's get you to the bathroom real quick."
She helped you up and wrapped her arm around you as she walked to the bathroom with you.
You knelt on the floor and took a few more deep breaths as your mouth began to water.
"It's okay." She softly spoke as she gently grabbed your hair and pulled it away from your face. "I'm here with you. It's okay."
It was almost as if the fight had never even happened.
And in those moments, it hadn't.
The fight hadn't been too bad, it was just that you were both pretty stubborn and frustrated and space seemed like the best thing for the night so you could both calm down a little.
It was mostly you both overthinking that it was worse than it was.
But even the worst of fights would never make Haewon not want to be there for you when you need her.
You being sick like this has made her forget about everything and she wasn't going to let anything stop her from being here to comfort you.
Haewon tried to comfort you the best she could as you started to throw up.
It was an awful experience as you threw everything up, making you gag and cough while your stomach ached worse than ever.
"There you go, baby. Let it all out." She said as she held your hair back with one hand and used the other to let her fingers brush soothingly along your spine.
"I can't." You whined, the agony inexpressible.
"It's okay, it's okay." She whispered. "Come on, baby. You'll feel better once it's all over."
She could only hope, at least.
Having her there with you was very comforting and was one of the only reasons you made it through.
The taste lingered on your tongue and even after you finished, you had to squeeze your eyes shut and see if you were truly done because the taste made your stomach turn again.
But thankfully, it seemed to have settled a little, and with shaky hands, you reached out to flush the toilet before closing your eyes.
"I'm so sorry." You said as you turned around to bury your face in her neck.
"Why are you sorry, baby?" She asked as she wrapped her arm around you. "You can't control it. Everyone throws up sometimes. It's probably food poisoning."
"Not just for that." You sniffled as you pulled away a little. "I'm sorry for earlier."
Haewon realized what you were apologizing for and she shook her head.
Gently stroking your cheek, she sent you a small smile and said,
"That's all behind us now."
"I need you to know how sorry I am though. I hate fighting with you."
"I know, I hate it too. But don't worry. I know you're sorry and I'm sorry too. Right now, none of that matters. All that matters is that we get you feeling better."
She brushed her fingers along your cheek before giving you a sweet kiss on your forehead.
"We can talk about everything more when you feel better. I promise that we're okay though. Don't worry your pretty little head about it. You're sick and I'm going to take care of you. Let's just focus on that."
"Okay. I love you."
"I love you too." She said before standing up and helping you up too.
You rinsed your mouth out before going back to the bedroom and Haewon helped you into bed.
"Are you cold?"
"A little."
"Do you need more blankets?" She asked as she covered you up.
"No. I need you."
She kissed your forehead a couple of times before turning off the light and crawling in under the covers beside you.
You moved closer to her and put your head on her chest and the sound of her heartbeat in your ears made you realize that everything was okay again between you.
She watched you close your eyes before brushing her fingers along your side.
"Get some sleep."
"I love you so much." You spoke against her skin.
"I love you so much too." She whispered. "We're okay, my love, I promise."
And with that, you could finally get some rest, because you were okay again; you'd always be okay.
