Peace.

That was what Jeongguk had been looking for when he left his room after the nightmare. The weight of his past had clung to him like a second skin, the echoes of his old pack's screams chasing him into wakefulness. He had needed air, needed space—needed something to ground him in the present.

And somehow, that something had led him to Taehyung.

Now, sitting in the quiet embrace of the garden, bathed in silver moonlight, Jeongguk wasn't sure if it was peace he had found.

Because peace wasn't supposed to feel this wild, this breathless.

It wasn't supposed to taste like Taehyung's lips, warm and insistent against his own.

Wasn't supposed to feel like fingers threading through his hair with just enough force to make him shudder.

Peace wasn't supposed to make his heart race.

But with Taehyung, it did.

Under the soft glow of the moon, in the stillness of the garden where the world seemed to fade away, two wolves were lost in each other—kissing like there was no tomorrow.

Their lips moved in sync, desperate yet deliberate, as if trying to memorize every curve and taste. Hands roamed freely, gripping, tugging, mapping out familiar territory.

Taehyung's fingers threaded through Jeongguk's dark hair, tugging just hard enough to make the Alpha groan—a deep, low sound that sent shivers down Taehyung's spine. But Jeongguk wasn't feeling any pain. How could he, when his mate was here, pressed against him, his lips just as eager?

Taehyung dragged his hands down, sliding from Jeongguk's hair to his chest before pushing him back just slightly, gasping for air.

"Gguk—let me breathe—" he panted, his voice uneven, lips swollen from their kisses.

Jeongguk's dark eyes flickered between Taehyung's parted lips and the curve of his neck, hunger still burning in them.

"You don't need to," he murmured, before dipping down, his mouth trailing along Taehyung's jaw, then lower, to the sensitive skin of his throat.

Taehyung shuddered, fingers curling around Jeongguk's shoulders as heat coiled in his stomach.

"Can't help it," Jeongguk muttered against his pulse, his voice rough, needy. "You smell too good."

Taehyung let out a breathy chuckle, tilting his head to the side as Jeongguk nipped at his skin. "And you're acting like you'll die if you stop kissing me for one second."

Jeongguk exhaled sharply, pressing a lingering kiss against the mark on Taehyung's neck—his mark. The reminder sent a deep, possessive thrill through him.

"Maybe I will," Jeongguk muttered, his breath warm against Taehyung's skin before sinking his teeth lightly into the spot. "Maybe I'll die if I'm not near you, even for a second."

A sharp gasp escaped Taehyung, his body arching into Jeongguk's as pleasure licked through his veins.

"Shit—"

Before he could even catch his breath, strong arms curled around his thighs.

Jeongguk lifted him effortlessly, pulling him up against his chest. Instinct took over—Taehyung wrapped his legs around Jeongguk's waist, his arms looping around his shoulders, his breath caught somewhere in his throat.

"Jeongguk—"

Jeongguk's lips were curved into a grin against his skin, his eyes dark and wild, filled with something raw, something primal.
