I woke up feeling like shit.

Today was the day.

The death anniversary of my mother. It's been 4 years. I miss her even more every single day.

I grabbed my phone and rang DI.

"Hello, Davis Industries, how may I help?" Linda answered the phone.

"Hey Linda, it's Eleanor. Is it okay if I have a day off today. It's my mothers death anniversary today and I really wanted to visit her" I spoke into the phone.

"Alright, I'll put that in to the records" she spoke before she wished me luck and hung up.

Everyone was at work already, so the house was silent.

Grant doesn't have much work today. He only has to go around the park asking people a few questions about the environment.

I got dressed in a pair of black leggings and a sweater.

I sat at my dressing table and only put concealer on my blemishes and a few swipes of mascara.

I decided on walking today, so I grabbed my black pea coat and slipped it on.

I threw on my black flats and walked down the stairs. I decided on skipping breakfast as I walked out of the house shutting the door behind me.

"Mummy" I whimpered as tears streamed down my face.

"I miss you" I whispered as I knelt down on my knees in front of her grave.

"I bought you tulips" I smiled as I reminisced our memories together.

"Mummy guess what Daddy and I grew in the garden!" The 6 year old me jumped up and down in excitement.

Mum and I walked out into the garden to reveal flowerbeds lining the whole garden.

"For you my lady" Dad grinned giving mum a tulip.

"This is my favourite flower" Mum grinned as she gently took the flower from Dad's grasp and placed it in her hair. She then picked me up and placed me on her hip.

"Mines too" Christopher, or Chris, my older brother by 6 minutes yelled as he rode into the back garden on his new bike.

"You can't like flowers, you're a.. a.. Boy" I scoffed crossing my arms over my chest sassily.

"You're just jealous that my tricycles are off and your's isn't" Chris snickered as he stopped his bike.

"I'm not jealous, princesses can't be jealous!" I yelled at him.

"Well you're not a princess" Chris yelled back at me.

"Daddy, tell him!" I squealed.

"I haven't visited Chris in a while" I spoke.

"I really feel for him, you and I both know he didn't murder you. Who did mum? Who?" I sobbed silently.

"I miss you" I said again.

The wind blew on my face, drying out the tears that coated my face, but it didn't take long for a fresh set of tears to crash down my cheeks.

"Mummy come back, please. I need you."

In reality I knew she couldn't come back to me, I guess that's how life works.

I took a deep breath.

"Mum, you know that dad never stops thinking about you right? Even though he got married to another woman, doesn't mean he doesn't love you. I'm glad dad is happy again, but Lydia will never replace you" I whispered.

Soon I fell into a deep silence. The only noise was coming from my quiet sniffles and the howling wind, in the distance I could hear the light sound of traffic. My mind was a blur, I wasn't thinking anything, everything was blank.

"I met this guy" I whispered as I broke the silence.

"His name is Grant" I smiled thinking of him.

"He has the most amazing smile"

"Kind eyes"

"Warm heart"

"Breath taking looks"

"He's smart"

"He makes my heart skip a beat"

"My heart aches for him when he's not around me"

"I find myself staring at everything he does"

"When he touches me I feel all giddy on the inside and I feel as if I would collapse at his touch"

"I think I may be falling for him"
