Bright headlights approaching pulled his gaze to the side mirror as Troy sat inside the cabin of his GMC Sierra, parallel in front of the house. His phone tapped his chin impatiently, a heat rising within his bloodstream at the routine that was put in place a year and a half ago. The other Sierra parked ahead, resulting in Troy to climb out as the one in white's engine shut off and his father climbs out.

"I can't keep on being y'all middle guy." Was the first thing Toby's baritone released as he approached his son.

"I know. I appreciate it." Troy said, walking towards the house. "Been tryna talk her into letting me take her alone, but she refuse and hang up."

"Yeah, well, we bouta kill allat." he voiced, knocking on the door.

Shortly after, the door opened. Cara planted across the threshold, wineglass in her right hand. The night of his leave to London, Cara found out she was with child, choosing to reveal it to Toby over Troy since their last night she couldn't get in touch with him. She didn't sweat him going overseas to reclaim his life or try to hold him back. His life put back together meant a set future for their kid and money in her account. She never caused him any problems in the start. He attended every visit via video call. Made it to the birth of his first child. And she never had to ask for anything.

Cara holding onto that coparent relationship being drama free vanished once Troy visited one week and trusted him to be the primary parent to take her to her appointment. One faceless photo added to his story sent his ex-girlfriend into an uproar. She blew his socials up with her spam account, sending threats throughout the entire appointment. He ignored her, focusing on his daughter the whole day. All was well until a car wreck happened by Hailey Butterfly on his ride home he shares. He broke an arm and by the grace of God, his child was unharmed.

Hailey Butterfly was only imprisoned for a year, long probation, and sent away out of California by her family.

Troy was granted a restraining order, but that didn't make Cara come to peace with the fact she could've lost her child due to someone Troy knew. That caused her anger and putting a rule in place: he could never have her by himself.
