*twelve years later*
"Can we stop by Chick-fil-A!?" Shy asked, earning agreements from her siblings.
Tailing the GMC Sierra, Troy drove with a glance over to his wife and let her respond to their kids in the second and third rows. "We're all going to eat after Seona's graduation."
"We already sat through Deucey's long graduation; hungry. Now we have to sit through Seona's long one next?" Shy groans, throwing her head back into the headrest. "I'm not gonna make it."
"No for real." Valero voiced, sitting back into the chair. "They gonna have to help me understand why they last name start with the second letter and you still gotta sit there through the whole thing. I'm too hungry to sit through another one while my stomach on empty."
"I'm hungry tooo." The toddler, Tamia Booker, mimicked her older siblings.
"See. Y'all starving the kid." Valero mentioned.
"I think I got it!" Shy spoke happily, looking at her phone. "There's a Chick-fil-A right down the street. We can pop out, grab a little something, and our bellies will be satisfied. As much food as Bam eats I'm sure he'll still be hungry after."
Valero frowned. "Don't act like you don't eat us outta house and home too."
"At least when I eat it I don't gain weight. Fat boy."
Valero and Shy started tossing insults at each other as normal. Courtney stared over to her husband, giving him an eye.
"Aight, y'all cut it out." The arguing ceased instantly; Shy and Valero hitting each other one last time. "We will stop to grab the Chick-fil-a right quick and don't ask for nothing else. And Shy, quit calling your brother fat. He just chubby."
"Exactly." Valero agreed, then a realization hit. "Hey!"
Courtney and Troy snickered lowly. "It's a joke," she said. "But seriously, no more body shaming, Shy."
