Steve and I walk back into the living room, arguing.
We just came back from a failed mission and Steve decided to blame it on me. It was a simple mission, we just had to get some intell about a group of terrorists that had been roaming around New York. But our cover was blown because Steve is 'THE famous Captain America, the greatest human to ever live'. Not my words by the way.
So the mission ended in a fight breaking out between the terrorist, their client, and us. Steve came out fine, of course he did. I on the other hand will be limping for the upcoming days, as one of the men hit me with a belt right on my thigh. I haven't checked it yet, but I'm pretty sure that there's a pretty big mark.
"Ooh, dramaaaaaa." Sam smirked at us as Steve just continued yelling.
"If it weren't for you I would be in Fury's office telling him everything we knew, but noooooo! 'Agent' Washington had to come in and ruin it! It's your fault, YOURS! I already had a feeling that the mission would fail. I just knew. You're way too risky!"
"I'm not risky, I actually build bonds with my teammates and make sure that we trust each other. What I do is completely based on trust! And even if you might not believe me, I trust you too. That's why I threw your shield at you, even if it basically impossible for to catch. It ended up working!"
Steve sighed and placed his hands on his hips. "I want you out of here! The only thing you've done is fucking up our missions, getting hurt or getting others almost hurt."
"First of all, watch your language." I said, imitating Steve. "And second of all, put more emphasis on almost. I didn't get anyone hurt! I trust them and they trust me."
"What about the time you pushed Bruce off a cliff, huh? How did you knew he would come back as the Hulk?"
"Because that's how the Hulk works! If Bruce dies, Hulk dies. And Hulk doesn't wanna die."
"That's true." Bruce interjected. "And I completely understood and trusted Vee when she did that. I knew she would do it for the greater good."
Steve pointed at me. "That doesn't make any sense, Bruce. What if the Hulk didn't come out?"
"That's not an option." Bruce said, crossing his arms infront of his chest. "The Hulk doesn't want to die, and if I fell off that I cliff I would've died, which means the Hulk would die too. Vee just explained that to you."
"Don't you understand my point? She took a massive risk! What if she takes another risk and it ends badly? Remember that one time she threw herself AND Bucky off of a building because she was sure that they would land in water. What if they didn't? Huh? THEN THEY WOULD BE DEAD!" Steve started full on shouting at this point. "I want her out of my team, now." His tone turned oddly calm.
Natasha stood up and spoke up. "Hey, watch it! You're not the one deciding who's on this team. And I'm pretty sure that you're the only one who wants her gone. She's one of our finest, you just can't accept that."
Steve looked at Natasha like she just killed his dog. "Yet I'm still the most powerful here." And with that he walked out of the living room.
I just rolled my eyes. "He's been acting like this for the past hour. He's just too proud to accept that we failed a mission because of him. He blew our cover."
"How?" Tony asks before taking a sip of his drink, which I assume is whisky.
"One of the terrorists recognized him, he has a pretty recognizable face. I mean, he has a whole museum thingy, he was in a few movies, at least 100 plus docs. Who wouldn't recognize him if he was shoved down their throat in Middle School history?"
