*5 years later*

*Vee's POV*

Five years have passed since Sam and Bucky disappeared. It has been a wild five years, having to explain to Sadie that her favorite people would not come back was heartbreaking for her. It took some getting used to, but we've build up a routine by now.

My daughters are helping me with planting some new flowers in the garden. Sadie is seven now, which is bizarre to think about, and our youngest daughter Hazel is two. She mostly watches as Sadie and I plant the flowers. Steve and James are cutting up some wood to have a bonfire tonight. The kids love it, and Steve and I always tell stories while the fire burns.

"Mama, what's that flower called?" Sadie asked as she pointed to some baby pink flowers.

"Those are peonies."

A car drove over the gravel of our front yard. Sadie and Hazel looked up. "Car!" Hazel exclaimed.

"Yes, a car."

"Who is it?"

"I don't know, I don't recognize it."

Someone stepped out, and I immediately recognized him.

"Tony?"

A smile appeared on his lips as he saw me. "Vee Washington." He said while walking up to us.

"It's Vee Rogers now, Tin man." We both chuckled when he pulled me into a hug.

"Oh, right, you married the dorrito. Ah, you two must be the off spring."

Sadie and Hazel looked at him with confused eyes. He let go of me while I introduced him to my girls. "This is Tony, and old friend of daddy's and I. Tony, that is Sadie, and that is Hazel."

He waved at them before speaking up. "I'm looking for the star spangled man with a plan, do you know where I can find him?"

"Yeah, follow that path and you'll find him with our son."

"Great." He walked off.

"Are we gonna follow him?" Sadie asked.

"Why not?"

We walked after him, he turned around to look at us for a second before he continued to walk.

"Mommy, who is the star spangled man with a plan?"

Tony snorted. "Ha! You never told them?"

I sighed. "Of course not Tony, he hasn't been called that in ages."

"Sure, sure. The star spangled man with a plan is your father back in the good ole days."

Sadie hummed. Steve and James came insight. James was holding the axe and Steve was assisting him with cutting the wood.

"Steven! I told you not to give him the axe." I exclaimed as James had that naughty smirk on his face he has whenever he does something he's not supposed to do.

"He really wanted to try, honey. And nothing is gonna go wrong, right bud?"

He nodded. "Everything is going completely fine, mommy, don't worry!"
