The mission was going so well. It was going the way I wanted it to go, but then we had to split. Steve and Bucky would go to the top floor and Natasha and I would search the bottom floor. It was Natasha's idea to split up Steve and I, because Steve was being way too protective and it didn't help the mission at all.

He'd push me into a corner so that I couldn't fight or help or do anything. He'd also jump infront of me every chance he got. He said that he wanted to protect me, and that it was his biggest priority.

He's an idiot for thinking that I couldn't protect myself. I have more fighting skills than him, even though he's better in hand to hand combat. But I'm better in fighting over all. He just doesn't wanna except it. He thinks I'm a porcelain vase, and I hate that he thinks of me in that way.

I finally got the chance to fight when we split up. Natasha would even give me more guys to knock out, which felt amazing. Fighting people is the best way to let out some steam.

Our floor was almost completely empty. We fought some guys, yes, but I can't imagine that that was it.

"Should we go upstairs, see what the boys are doing?" Natasha asked with a smirk.

"Let's go, I'm pretty sure this floor is clear."

"Me too." We took some stairs up to the first floor, and we were immediately met by action.

I grabbed a grenade from my pocket, pulled out the trigger, and let it roll over the floor.

"3... 2... 1..." I whispered before violet energy escaped the grenade, which made all of the men fly across the room. It was enough to knock them not, but not enough to kill them.

"I was excited for some fighting, but I guess that does the job too. Why didn't the grenade make any sound?"

"It's designed that way, works quite well in my opinion. Also, there's no explosion. Just magic energy."

"Magic space energy?"

It was my own energy that I pushed into the grenade while making it, but I didn't say that out loud. Natasha doesn't know about my powers. "Yes, magic space energy."

We continued to wonder around the long, grey walls of the building. It was all going well until we had to split up again.

Natasha went left, and I went right. The halls got darker and darker as I continued to walk. I let some purple energy escape my fingers to create some light. I heard voices, which I didn't recognize.

"C'monnnn, we know you have our information. Fess up. Where is the chemical weapon?" The voice was deep and rough, it sounded like it went through hell and back multiple times.

I took another step so that I could see what was going on. Three backs were facing me. Two of people that I didn't recognize, and the other was Steve's. Bucky was facing me, and he looked worried.

One of the men had a gun touching the temple of Steve's head, and the other had a gun angled towards Bucky. Steve's back was tense, his shield was laying on the floor and so was his helmet.

Bucky looked at me for a split second before blinking twice.

Finish them.

It was our code for finish them

I didn't think twice. Both of my hands pointed towards the back of the terrorists' head, and I let the energy escape. My power hasn't been used to kill in years, but it felt like I hadn't missed a step. I twisted both of my hands, which made both of the men fall on the ground.

Steve looked at me with relief in his eyes before checking the pulse of the men who had the gun pointed towards his head.

"No pulse."
