*Vee's POV*

I looked at Nick Fury as he walked into the Avengers Meeting room. It's that time of the week again, mission hand outs.

Bucky and I haven't been on the best of terms lately. It has been two weeks since the accident, and I'm struggling to look him in the eyes. It's cruel, I know, it wasn't his fault. Yet his hands were the ones who threw pieces of glass into my father's skin.

I just can't unsee it. Every time I look at Bucky I hear my father screaming in agony. It's such a painful vision, so I'm gonna try to avoid Bucky as long as I can.

The Avengers have started to notice that I'm avoiding Bucky. Most of them asked what's up, but I don't answer. I just can't.

I've visited my brother four more times, we had so much more to unpack about each others lives. I wanted to know more about our siblings, his childhood, our parents, our family, the life I was supposed to have.

I also met Tobias again two days ago. Richard took me to Tobias's retirement home. Tobias suffers from dementia, so he didn't really know who I was. He was only a baby when I left too, so it kind of makes sense. He was indeed missing a leg, which was a hard thing to accept.

I actually might have screamed in Steve's face about that... because it was his fault. Both Tobias and Steve confessed to that. So I'm not on the best terms with Steve either.

So yeah, living together with the two people I'm trying avoid is so much fun.

"Rhodes, Rogers, Wilson, and Washington. We have a mission up in the air which I need the four of you to take care of. There's rumors going around that an air force plane is gonna get hijacked. Rogers, you're in charge."

Fury doesn't really trust me with leading missions anymore...

"On it." Rogers mutters. The other missions gets handed out before all of us went on our mary way.

I went to my office to finish up on my side job. Nasa reached out to me and wanted me to help them mapping out all the planets I know. I accepted, so now I don't have a reason to go home early anymore, as they gave me a strict deadline.

Which is three days. And I'm not even halfway done yet.

There was a knock on my door after maybe 20 minutes of work. "Yeah." I called out.

Steve walked in with a file in his hand. "I want you to read this through before we go on our mission. It contains everything you need to know."

"Thanks."

"So, Sam, Bucky, and I plan on going home in about 30 minutes. Do you think you'll be done by that?"

I chuckle. "Not even close."

"When do you think you'll be done?"

"When I can't fucking type anymore."

Steve crossed his arms infront of his chest, which made the muscles in his arm want to burst out of his shirt. "I'll tell Sam and Bucky that they can go home. I'll stay with you until you're done."

"You don't have to do that. Just go home if you want to. I'll be fine."

"No arguing, Washington. I feel like you might need some help."

"Sure, can you tell me where Maveth is on this map." I opened a tab on my computer, which showed all the planets I know of in order of location.

He chuckled. "I cannot, but that doesn't mean that I want you to be alone for who knows how many hours."

"You're too protective of you people you barely speak to, Rogers."

"That's why I'm Captain America." He walked away, but returned maybe 6 minutes later. He pushed the lounger I have in my office next to my chair before sitting down. "I might learn something from this."
