Another week passed, I had to keep sending Harmony to my mother's house every day she would come back home with an empty stomach.
I watched as the sun shone threw the windows of the shop. Every body got the day off since business wasn't as crazy as it was before.
My phone rang. I grabbed it and read the caller ID.
Mama
I answered and sighed.
"Hello.?"
"Mommy." Harmony whimpered. I sighed,
"What's up baby girl.?" She am ffled and said,
"How many more hours until you pick me up.?" She asked quietly. I looked at the clock 8:50 it read.
"I'm ten minutes baby..." I said deciding to clock out early. She sounded a bit happy. I grabbed my jacket as we spoke.
"You feel like going out with me tonight.?" I asked.
"Huuugh.?! Me and mama go out.? Yes.!" I smiled and locked the building up.
"Okay. Get ready I'm coming to pick you up." Harmony squealed. And hung up.
As I drove to mamas house I got Harmony. She ran out quickly and got in. I took her home and she got cleaned up.
I laughed and slid in the button up shirt and then my cargo shorts. I tied up my Jordan's and pinned my hair up in a messy bun.
Harmony came out. She wore a pretty white dress with sandals and I gave her two pony tails. We went out for dinner.
Harmony are every last thing I ordered for her. She begged for more and more. She had finished off two plates of spaghetti and sipped it all down with big cups of apple juice. Dessert came around and she didn't leave her plate dirty.
After dinner we went home. Harmony laid in my arms snoring I rubbed her back. My hands brushed over a lump. I rubbed it and unzipped her dress from her back slowly. As I looked at the lump tears formed in my eyes there was all kinds of bruise marks on her back.
I jumped from my dream and rubbed Harmony's back. It was soft. I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. The front door slamming caught my attention. Harmony gripped my arm tight and feel back to sleep.
I listened quietly reaching for my tool that laid under the mattress. When the door opened and the light came on all I could do was curse,
"You Bitch." I whispered. Lyrics stood in a tight mini dress with heels in her hand and liquor in the other.
"I'm home." She moaned. I sat up and looked at her,
"Where the fuck have you been." She rolled her eyes and sat the liquor down.
"Hello." I yelled. She moaned and said,
"I been out... But I'm back..." I grabbed the liquor and shook my head.
"You messing yourself up..." Lyrics grabbed my waist and cried.
"I miss you so much Kimmy.." She said. Lyrics kissed my lips. Her breath smelled rotten and horrible.
She gasped and threw up on me and the bed.
"Lyrics.!" I yelled pushing her away from me.
"I love you give me a kiss." She said. I pushed her away again and said,
"Why did you leave like that Kim.? Why.?" She cried and puked all over herself.
"I was sad." The stintch was so strong and horrible I couldn't take it.
"You gotta go." I said spoke taking the liquor from her hand. She threw up and cried,
"Give that back... Its medicine." I walked to the bath room and poured it in the toilet. She screamed and pushed me.
"Stop it.!" I looked down at her she shook my head.
"You fucking disgust me... You gotta go.!" She cried and took the bottle.
"I paid seventy dollars for this liquor... Why would you pour it out.?" Her tears messed up her mascara.
I grabbed her gently and looked into her eyes.
"Lyrics... Your not well." She cried pulling away from me. I held her tight,
"Quit pulling away, YOU ARE NOT WELL.!" She fell down and cried harder.
"I am... I'm okay..."
"Lyrics look at me." Tears filled my eyes as I stared at my future wife. Her make up was runny and she smelled horrible. Her pretty hair was dried up and brittle feeling.
"We gonna get you to a hospital... Because you are not... My woman... You are not the lyrics I saw four years ago." She looked away and cried. I shook my head.
"Let me call the hospital." She nod holding me tight. I grabbed the phone and watched as she sighed.
When the ambulance got here, they took Lyrics away. Soft arms touched my face. I looked up and smiled at Harmony. She grabbed my hand. I picked her up and we both went to bed.
