Lydia's POV

" I'm fine, thank you. I'm fine, thank you. I'm fine, thank you..." There was a knock on the bathroom door.

"Lyd! Come on! Bonnie will be here soon and you haven't had breakfast yet!" I heard Elena walk downstairs before I let out a deep sigh. It's the first day of school, my junior year. I feel myself tearing up thinking about how my parents should be here wishing me a good day.

"No, you can do this. Just make it through the day. Put on a strong face, and you can cry into your pillow when you get home." I thought to myself as I made my way out of the bathroom and downstairs just in time to see Jeremy steal Elena's cup of coffee. After she poured herself another I snatched it up for myself. She glared at me as I added cream and sugar to the cup, but not forgetting the cinnamon.

"Toast... I can make toast." Jenna stammered, obviously freaking out.

" It's all about the coffee aunt Jenna" I said while raising my mug to her.

"Yeah, I just wish I could have some." Elena said, pretending to sound mad.

"It's your first day of school and I'm so unprepared. Lunch money?" Jenna asked. Me and Elena shook our heads as Jer grabbed all the cash and stuck it in his jacket pocket. I highly doubt that he's going to use that money for lunch. "Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna joked. I sighed.

"Jenna, we'll be fine." Elena reassured her.

"Yeah, besides, don't you have a presentation to do?" I jumped in.

"Yes. I'm supposed to be meeting my thesis advisor...now." Jenna then said her goodbyes and rushed out of the house.

"I'm driving myself to school. See you their!" I called over my shoulder as I walked out of the kitchen and to my sky blue Jeep Wrangler; It's my baby. I decided to ride with the top down since it was such a nice day.

I pulled up to the school and parked towards the front. After taking a deep breath, I walked through the double doors, into the place I could call jail for two more years. As I walked towards my locker, I saw my best friend.

"Matty!" I screamed and ran up to him. He turned around just in time to catch me in his arms.

"Woah! Woah! Hey Lyd! How are you and Elena doing?" I could see the sadness in his eyes when he said her name. I gave him the biggest fake smile I could muster up.

"Better, thanks for asking..." I trailed off as I saw Matt looking at something behind me. I turned and looked and notice Elena and Bonnie looking over here. I waved at them and turned back towards Matty but he was already walking down the hallway. I turned back around and made my way towards Bonnie, not knowing where Elena had gone off to.

"Bonnie? Bonnie!" She just kept staring at this guy at the front office. He turned around and... Woah! He is hot! Not my type...but hot. I looked up towards the ceiling.

" Thank you." I whispered before turning towards Bonnie. " I'm gonna go to class Bon, I'll see you in there. I walked to history and sat down in the middle. People started to file in and I noticed Bonnie come in, she sat behind me. Then Elena came in and sat in front of me. And, surprisingly, the new guy walked in. Every girl stared at him as he sat down next to me.

Literally, the first half of class, I couldn't pay attention because Stefan and Elena kept eye fucking each other. Suddenly, my phone beeped. When I looked at it, it was a group message with Bonnie and Elena.
