(The picture is of Eleonore Bellanger, who is being introduced in this chapter with her three sisters.)

Buzzzz......Buzzzz......Buzzzz......

My phone woke me up out of my sleep. I don't remember falling asleep, I must of cried myself to sleep. Damon...I cant even think about him right now or else I'll burst into tears again. I pick up my phone without looking at who was calling and answer it.

"Hello." I saw in my raspy, i-just-woke-up, voice.

"Lydia..."I heard someone whisper, and they sounded like they were crying...wait...

"Eleonore?! Is that you?! Oh my god, how have you been. I was getting worried, I haven't heard from you in awhile."

Let me explain something, Eleonore Bellanger has been my childhood friend since I can remember. Her and her family moved here when we were both just starting kindergarten. We were best friends from the moment we met, and she lived right next door so we were always around each other. And after we became best friends, her sisters followed suit. They hung out with Elena as well, but you practically couldn't separate us once we got together.

When we were in the seventh grade, their parents died in a plane crash. They were devastated, and had no other family to take care of them. So they had to go into foster care. I still talked with all of them, but it became difficult. And when they were leaving their third foster home, they got separated. I know that Eleonore and Audrey, her fraternal twin and the oldest ones, got to stay together in a home in New York, while Noemi and the youngest, Juliette, ended up together in Pennsylvania.

And its been hard talking with them at these new homes, since they don't have their phones anymore. They call me from a landline whenever they can but, their foster parents...are awful. They're abusive...mentally and physically. When I found out, I tried to help them get out and back together...but nothing was working. And when my parents died...I was locked in my room for a month, not talking to anyone, including them. I haven't heard from them since my birthday July 12th.

"Lyd. We need your help." She whispered. "He just...he won't stop hitting her." I instantly jumped out of bed, looking at my clock it read 2:35.

"Jake?" He was their foster dad.

"Yeah. She came in a few minutes past curfew and he went off. It's been going on for hours now a-a-and I just don't know what to do." She started sobbing.

"O.k. here's what you're gonna do. You are gonna pack all of yours and Audrey's's stuff in two bags. And I'm gonna come pick you up. You're not staying there anymore. We're gonna stage a jailbreak and then, on the way back, we'll stop and pick up Noemi and Juliette." I said as I grabbed am outfit and ran into my bathroom.

"But what if we get caught? And where are we gonna stay? You're house isn't big enough for all of us. I couldn't do that to you and Elena and Jeremy and Jenna. We don't want to be a burden. I just don't know what to do."

"Yes you do. I can't sit here while you guys keep..." I couldn't even say it. "Look, it's 2:45 right now, I will be there at 10:00, 9:00 if you're okay with me breaking a few traffic and speeding laws." I said, trying to get a laugh out of her.

"O.k." She giggled happily. "I'll see you then...thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to us."

"I love you, see you then." And I hung up. Enough is enough, I'm getting them out...well, this day just got much more eventful. I took a quick shower, and got dressed. I threw on a little make up and then put all of my makeup in a bag, also grabbing threw outfits, including shoes, in there as well. I rushed down the stairs and ran into the kitchen. I dumped the fruit bowl in the bag and grabbed the box of donuts and all the bags of chips and put them in there too.
