KITTY AND RICHIE WENT BACK to Kitty's apartment. And in that moment, she was extremely thankful for Richie. Thankful that he didn't seem to judge her or belittle her about her anxieties, instead, he told her he understood (although he couldn't ever really understand, he understood why she was anxious and that was more than enough for her) and he stayed close whilst keeping an eye out, informing her that he couldn't see anyone following, and it was safe to say that Ben was either on his way back to New York or was already back or he just wasn't stalking her like Kitty had been fearing that he might do.
He hadn't been in her apartment before. At least not this one. It was a different one to the one she that she had lived in before New York, smaller but seemingly cosier. With more photos of the people that were important to her throughout the whole apartment.
Whilst Kitty went to change out of The Beef shirt she had been wearing that day, finding it too sweaty and dirty to continue wearing it, Richie wandered around her place curiously. His eyes scanning the living area. She had a small kitchen that was an open plan to the living room, where he had come across a photograph that looked familiar.
He stopped by it and stared at it. It was of Kitty and Mikey and due to their outfits and the decorations in the back of the photo Richie instantly knew that it had been taken during one of the Christmases they'd all spend together. The one that ended in the worst disaster of them all.
"Here, I hope they fit," Kitty's voice brought him out of his thoughts. He looked over his shoulder and watched as she got closer, holding some clothes in her hands along with a freshly laundered towel, "And there's a towel if you wanna shower."
"Thanks," He nodded and took the stuff from her.
Kitty glanced over at what he had been looking at. Spotting the image of her and Mikey, the two of them grinning at the camera. It had been taken at the start of that fateful night. They both looked young and Kitty still had her bangs cut fully across her forehead and the smiles on their faces were ones that were no longer visible by the end of that night.
"You remember that day?" Kitty asked, nodding her head towards the photo.
Richie looked back at it, sighing, "Yeah..."
The Berzatto kitchen was a complete and utter mess. Which it almost always was during Christmas time. Kitty had found herself in the kitchen with Donna Berzatto whilst the woman tried to juggle doing literally everything all by herself, refusing any and all help when it was offered to her, but she did allow Kitty to help clean up the spilled wine off the floor when Carmy walked into the room.
