THEY WERE MAKING MONEY ATThe Bear, however, they were also spending it in ten folds. Mainly due to (Kitty would glare at Carmy when Computer told them this – the menu changing daily, meaning the ingredients were bought too often in bulk and wasted).
There was a strange atmosphere in the restaurant that day. With the news of Andrea Terry announcing that she was closing Ever down, stating she wanted to end it on a high on her terms, before letting it fall to ruins. Kitty couldn't help but stare down the face of parallels. The Bear was chasing the type of success that Ever had. The type of success any Michelin star restaurant had. But they were already running themselves down into the mud. Money was scarce despite how often they were booked, and she couldn't help but wonder if it would be better to change everything new they tried and go back to the old, or simply to just throw in the towel and admit when something wasn't working.
But they just had to wait to see what would happen to them and their restaurant.
Especially as they waited for their first photoshoot of it and eventually their first article and professional review of it.
It was obvious the tensions were high as everyone scrubbed and buffed the restaurant, neatening it up the best that they could – to the highest standard that they could. Kitty had tried to get Sugar to go home, knowing that all the stress wouldn't be good for her, especially with how close she was to popping, but the blonde assured that she would be fine in the office, sorting out the stuff that needed to be sorted behind the scenes.
The weekend before, Kitty had thrown Sugar her official baby shower. It had come later than most did due to the stress of working at The Bear. She had actually planned it three times and only on the third try did it officially go through.
The first time it was cancelled due to how busy The Bear was that week. It was impossible to even get out of the restaurant for a five minute breather let alone a full baby shower. The second time, she cancelled it after finding out that Neil decided to be a fucking dumbass and invite Francie for some unknown, goddamn fucking reason. The last thing that Kitty wanted to happen at the baby shower (aka something that should be a special, happy and exciting event) was a fight between herself and her sister or Sugar and Francie. The third and final time she planned it, she threatened Carmy that it would go through and she would make sure of it. Not letting anything stop her this time. And he surprisingly agreed. So, Marcus and her took over hers and Richie's kitchen earlier that week to make all different kinds of sweet treats for the event and it went off without any problems – because Kitty had threatened everyone attending to be on their best behavior.
