KITTY LET OUT A SIGH as she slammed the trunk of Ben's car shut. Wiping her hands on her loose-fitting shorts. It was finally the day where she and Ben would be driving to New York to properly begin their life together. And as excited as she felt, there was a pit in her stomach. Especially when she turned around and looked at her friends, brothers and Richie, all of them standing there, ready to wave her goodbye.
Honestly, at first, she was surprised to see that Richie was there, but it didn't take long for her to realise that he was practically dragged there by Mikey and Tiffany. But there was a part of her that felt like she might miss having someone to insult the way she always insulted Richie, although, maybe now she could finally take a fresh breath without wanting to punch someone in the head, so the emotions coursing through her were certainly polarising.
Out of everyone, Neil looked the most emotional. Despite the fact that they had a Faks family dinner a few days ago (unfortunately with Francie in attendance), where Kitty was able to say goodbye to her dramatic family (who were all acting as if she was moving to the opposite end of the world and not just a two and half hour plane ride away), he somehow still found it in himself to have tears ruminating in his eyes. And when he squeezed her, it took Mikey and Ted to pull him off so that the black haired woman could breathe.
"I'm gonna miss you, Kit," Mikey told her, pushing Neil away and letting Ted keep a hold of him as he wrapped his arms around his best friend.
Kitty melted into Mikey's arms. Wrapping hers around him and placing her cheek on his shoulder, inhaling the scent of him.
"I'm gonna miss you too, Mikey," She whispered into his shoulder, "You better pick up your goddamn phone now."
A rumble echoed through his body as he laughed, "For you, always."
"Okay, stop hogging her, you guys!" Sugar groaned, opening her arms wide and pouting, looking like a frowning five year old that wasn't getting their way.
Mikey and Kitty laughed and unravelled themselves from their embrace, with Mikey pressing a kiss on the side of Kitty's head before moving away and letting Sugar engulf Kitty into her arms.
"I can't believe you're leaving me here with all of them," Sugar groaned.
Kitty chuckled and squeezed Sugar's body closer, "I know. I know. I'm a terrible person. You can always come with me instead of bein' stuck in this testosterone fest."
