He opened his eyes in a half-conscious state, just like any other day, at 5 AM, even though last night was a tired night. He tilts his head lightly and adjusts his gaze to the girl lying next to him, using his arm as a pillow.

He sighs

Turning over to the side and softly embracing her waist, his legs intertwined with her smoothly. Instinctively pulls her in toward him to give her a little squeeze, he has to be careful not to wake her up. Sniffing the scent from her hair, it smells so good.

Kaneki heard Touka's alarm ring on her phone, It was 6 AM already, It was her daily alarm clock for her to wake up. Leaving the mattress and going to the bathroom, Kaneki starts to take a shower, he should be quick as he has to let Touka use the bathroom after she woke up.

The water raining from his head down his whole body, the coldness in the morning making his senses more active. Thinking about all the things that had happened in his life and his upcoming decision, he is afraid that he may fall for this place so much that he won't have the courage to leave.

Turning off the water from the shower and dries himself with a big towel while still deep in his thoughts, he blinks at the fact that the sound of the alarm clock still ringing in his ears.

Touka didn't wake up yet

He doesn't find it strange at all since it usually happens. Stays up late, can't wake up, and sleeps until noon on Sunday to pay her sleep debt. And Kaneki has to sometimes wake her up, he has been used to it.

"Touka-chan" His voice speaks up and comes to sit on his mattress where Touka is sleeping, shaking her a little to wake her up. "Touka-chan" He gently said

Her temperature is hot

Touka's body twitched a bit, and her eyes started to open. Finding a numbness in her head and an abnormal sensation in her body, it doesn't feel great to her.

"Ummm" Her eyes still closed but her face frowned as the tiredness hit her, is this a sign of fever?

"Touka-chan, take a day off today" Kaneki lowered his head down and his palm feeling her forehead

His hand gently brushed away like usual, she had never been an obedient girl. Touka heavily sat up and sighed. "I'm ok, I can go to school today"

Kaneki frowned at her stubbornness, it gave him discomfort whenever she disobeyed like that. His eyes clearly show how discomfort he is, and it catches Touka's attention, she pats his head like he's a little brother to her.
