A peaceful day

The following day arrived at Anteiku, shining through the balcony, and reached the tatami where Kaneki was sleeping.

"Onii-chan"

Kaneki is sleeping peacefully and he hears Hinami's voice, and she's shaking him a bit to wake him up.

"Onii-chan"

Hinami softly calls Kaneki again, keep shining Kaneki gently to wake him up.

"Mmmm..." Kaneki groans slightly in his throat as someone has cut him from his beautiful sleep.

"Onii-chan, wake up" Hinami keeps shaking him and urging him to wake up.

"Mmm, Hinami?" Kaneki's voice muffled as he just got out of his sleep, still in a dull state of sleepiness. His eyes barely open and soon he's about to drift into sleep again.

"Wake up!" Hinami hisses.

Kaneki quickly catches Hinami's fist before it can land on Kaneki's face. "Haha, I only receive hits from Touka"

Blinking his eyes in annoyance, Kaneki rubbed his eyes and was hardly open to see Hinami.

"Why are you waking up so late today?" Hinami sat on his tatami and used her big naive eyes to look down at Kaneki

"Hmmm? What time is it?" Kaneki looks at her in a blurry and sleepy state.

But eventually, he closed his eyes again and tried to get back into his sleep. What had happened yesterday made him so tired.

Hinami put her hand on his forehead for a bit to see if he was sick or not.

"You're not sick. But why do you look so exhausted?" Hinami pulls her hand out of Kaneki's forehead and she looks at the clock, to answer the question he just asked. "It's 7, you normally get up at 6 isn't it?"

"Mmmmm... 7 already?" Kaneki blinked and opened his eyes again when he heard Hinami say it was 7. It was really late for Kaneki as he normally woke up at 6:00. "I was just exhausted from yesterday's fight" Kaneki tiredly said and looked at Hinami.

His hand unconsciously touches his stomach where he was stabbed yesterday, it still hasn't fully healed yet, but it's not a problem at all. While fighting he has eaten those dove's flesh to heal himself.

Hina mi's eyes narrowed in guilt. "I'm sorry. It's my fault, Onii-chan and Onee-chan might have been killed because of me" Also her voice was filled with regrets

Slowly sitting up, Kaneki just smiled warmly and rubbed the top of her head softly.

"It's not your fault, we're still alive after all. So don't excruciate yourself anymore"

Hinami slightly nods in understanding. Although she knows it, her eyes still narrow down and her face frowns, seems like she needs more time to mentally recover.

Kaneki yawned loudly, then stretched his body out a bit so it made his muscles less dull.

"Still feels guilty?" He noticed Hinami's expression and quickly knew it.

Hinami nod

"Then let me tell you a thing that will light you up" Kaneki rise the mood in his voice so that he hopes it will also lighten Hinami up.

"What is it?"

"Thanks to you, the fight yesterday has become a miracle for me and Touka" Kaneki smiles brightly. His cheeks also blush a bit, even now he still feels excited as he remembers about yesterday.
