After Touka gives him the courage and why he should go down to meet Hide, Kaneki slowly steps down to Anteiku, still having a sense of worry inside him. 

Calm down, Kaneki... It will be fine. 

He has to reassure himself as he's walking down closer to Anteiku.

Kaneki is standing behind the door that connects the staff room with Anteiku, the other side of the door, Hide is waiting for him. Taking a shaky breath, he turns the doorknob and steps outside.

The familiar atmosphere of Anteiku, the coffee smell, and customers talking while enjoying their coffee. The figure of the yellow-haired boy appeared in his sight, sitting at the place that they usually sat when they were still human, taking a sip of coffee, and waiting for Kaneki.

As the appearance of Kaneki, Irimi makes eye contact with him, gesturing for him to be careful and not say anything out of control. Kaneki nodded.

"Kanekiii!" Hide notices the appearance of Kaneki and waves his hand toward Kaneki. he looks so happy seeing his old friend and receives a smile back from Kaneki.

Kaneki slowly walks toward the table where his friend is sitting and sits opposite him. "Yo, Hide" Kaneki smiled 

"WHAT THE?... What is this hair??! Since when did you change your hair color?"

"I'm just feeling like white hair will suit me." 

"Yes, it seems to it you more." Hide stared at Kaneki's hair, examining it. "Ag, but I still remember the old black hair Kaneki"

"Haha, my black hair will soon come back". Hide was excited to see his old friend again. "Mann, since when did you come back?"

"Just a few weeks ago," Kaneki lied, weakly faking a smile. He was so damn nervous, but at least Hide doesn't ask any weird questions yet.

"You didn't tell me anything, bad person," Hide mockingly said, "I have to come here to see you."

"Sorry, I just..." Kaneki lowered his eyes in guilt, "I have something to do with my aunt... And I had to leave Tokyo for a long tim.e" He faked a story, fighting the urge to touch his chin, he knew Hide would catch him if he touched his chin. But the guilt in his eyes was honest, he truly felt guilty for hiding so many secrets from his best friend.

"Is it ok now?" Hide worriedly asked

"I don't know yet... I may have to leave again." Kaneki sadly looked at Hide, "Sorry for hiding it from you, Hide."

Hide just smile, "It's ok, I understand you, you must have your own reason."

Kaneki's heart was beating, throbbing by that. He understands me? The fact that Hide easily takes the lie makes Kaneki concerned and a bit worried.

"So now you live here?" Hide asked another question, his face was so bright like usual, with a chilling face and a comfortable body that couldn't keep in place. 

With Hide chilling vibe, he always makes Kaneki comfortable when talking to him. "Yeah, thanks for moving my stuff here" Kaneki just smiled, relieved that Hide didn't push any deeper into the reason why he left.

Hide with his eyes still wandering around like usual, is not an introvert like Kaneki, Hide usually looks around and observes the surroundings, sometimes he looks at girls and even teases them. Thanks to Hide, Kaneki knows how to observe things and how to talk to girls, Kaneki before Kaneki is like a person with girl phobia.

"Don't mind it, Kaneki, that's what a friend should..." His sentence got cut while answering, as his eyes eventually landed on Kaneki, and looks like he had found something shocking. "K-Kaneki..."
