"What did I say?"
"You said you love me."
"Are you crazy?" (Eyes widen, voice slightly strained.)
"I know you love me." (Smirks, stepping closer.)
"Why should I?" (Turns away, avoiding eye contact.)
"Because you don't know how to lie properly."
"I am not lying. I am single for life."
"You won't be single when I'm here." (Tilts head, eyes locking onto theirs.)
"Noo." (Takes a step back.)
"If you deny again that you love me, I will kiss you to death."
"You must have heard something wrong." (Voice falters, heart pounding.)
"No, I heard it loud and clear. You love me." (Pauses, gaze softens.) "And I love you too."
"Fuck..." (Curses under breath, running a hand through hair.)
"Why can't you just say it to my face?" (Grabs their wrist gently.) "I am dying to hear you, fool."
(A tense silence. Then, a shaky exhale before their voice drops to a whisper.)
"I love you."
(A smirk, a victorious gleam in their eyes.)
"Took you long enough." (Leans in, closing the gap between them.)
