Demons - Imagine Dragons Horror

Dan.

I woke up to a voice repeatedly yelling my name and banging on the door frantically. It was that loud I'm surprised the door hadn't caved in yet. I yawned and slowly got out of bed, putting on a plain white t-shirt with a single blue stripe going across the middle. Then I put on my black jogging pants which I only wore when I had no where to be.I would have thought by the sound of me getting out of bed and getting changed would have signalled I was up, but the knocking and the sound of the voice chanting my name still occurred.

"Just give me a minute!" I yelled. "Jesus Christ.." I mumbled to myself whilst putting on my socks. When I went to the door I noticed there was no shadow underneath indicating someone was there waiting. I unlocked the door, taking my time and opened it slightly. I peeked out and saw that no one was there..? Weird. I decided to shake it off since it was early in the morning, probably around 7am and I was probably still tired, which led to me imagining non existent things.

As I made my way downstairs, a strong odour filled my nostrils. I knew that smell from anywhere. Pancakes! Being the sort of childish person I am I ran downstairs making my way into the kitchen. To my surprise Ben was there frying up some pancakes. Dan, Wayne and Aja where there too. Arrow and River were probably still asleep. As I came into the kitchen everyone smiled. They seemed a little too happy, maybe they somehow forgot what happened last night?

"Good morning Daniel, how was your sleep?" Asked Dan with a smile on his face whilst eating the remaining half of his pancake.

"It was fine thanks, Ben can you make me some pancakes? I'm hungry as ever!" I asked.

Ben turned around and nodded, hopefully that sentence led to him making me more than one pancake, as I said before, I was well hungry.

"Oh yeah, I tried asking you earlier Platz if you wanted anything but you didn't answer so I went back downstairs" Said Dan.

That must have been who was knocking at my door and yelling my name. Though it did seem a bit too desperate for just asking if I wanted pancakes.

"Oh so that's who it was." I replied with a show of realisation on my face.

"Pancake Platz!" Wayne giggled as everyone laughed. That's probably going to be my new nickname from now on. Oh god, I laughed anyway since it was quite funny at the time. Wayne was known for making the band laugh, even at depressing times.

"So, you all seem a bit too happy from what happened last night..?" I brought up.

They all looked at me, blank faced.

"What do you mean? You didn't show up so we all decided not to share anything." Said Aja looking really confused.

I looked around at everyone's faces and didn't really know what to reply so I decided to play along.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. I felt a bit light headed last night so I went sleep early. Must have just dreamt about it or something." I lied.

"Oh yeah ha ha" Laughed Dan trying to make everything less awkward. He was known for doing that.

"You feeling better now?" Asked Ben whilst coming over to my plate and dumping not one, but two pancakes on. This is one of the reasons why I love Ben.

"Oh yeah, thanks." I replied as I dribbled the syrup that was on the table onto my pancakes.

As I was eating my breakfast I noticed Dan signalling me to come with him somewhere. We both excused ourselves from the table and I followed Dan into the hallway.

"Listen. I remember last night, but the others don't. What's going on?" Confronted Dan, his face looking puzzled.

"You do? Thank God, thought I was going crazy! And I don't know, maybe they hit their head or something?"

"Maybe, highly doubt it though. Anyway, since they don't remember anything let's just never bring it up again. Sorry for pressuring you into telling us even though you didn't, it's just we were all worried about you, and your safety" Said Dan reaching out to hug me. We exchanged hugs and went back into the kitchen after I agreed. To be honest, I didn't mind not telling anyone about it, I was pretty happy he suggested that.

    After we had all finished our breakfast, we all decided we would go out to this park that was pretty close to where we were staying. We woke up Arrow and River and made sure they were well fed before we went.

When we got there, there wasn't a single soul at the park. We all found this strange but kept it to ourselves. Aja took Arrow and placed her on the baby swing and playfully pushed. Wayne did the same with River. It was just me, Ben and Dan sitting on the bench watching.

As we were on the bench I noticed something wrong with Dan. His nose was suddenly bleeding and his breathing changed. His face was pale and he was sweating. I lightly tapped him on the shoulder making sure he was okay, trying to get a single reaction out of him.

"Dan? Are you okay, you have a nose bleed." I asked whilst gently shaking him so he would respond. Nothing. Even Ben noticed and kept asking the same thing. Only moments after Aja rushed over with Arrow and said the same. No response. At this moment I began to freak out, I wanted all this to stop and me and Dan both agreed on to not bring any of this up.

"CALL 911 NOW" Yelled Aja as Wayne came over with River with a tight grip. He quickly took out his phone and started to dial the three digits until suddenly I heard a loud gasp of air coming from Dan. Aja hugged him so tightly you could tell she was using all her strength. A small tear trickled down Dan's face as he hugged his wife in fear.
