Demons - Imagine Dragons Horror

Wayne.

I saw Dan make a run for the corner. I was about to do the same until I realised I was stuck. My legs felt paralysed to the ground and I suddenly felt weak and drained.

"Daniel! What are you doing? Run!" He screamed.

Many thoughts rushed through my head at this point. I was so scared yet so confused. I suddenly felt two hands grab me by the arms and spin me around. It was the creature, well Ben if I should be exact. I found myself making deep eye contact with his pupils. It began to open it's mouth to speak.

"WAKE UP! DANIEL WAKE UP! PLEASE!" It screamed. Gradually it's voice getting more and more silent. The room began to fade to white making me feel light headed. I turned my head to make one last glance at Dan. He was on the floor motionless. I tried to scream but something inside of me wouldn't allow me to. All that came out in the end was a slight squeak of despair.

I turned my head one final time towards the creature's view but all I saw was nothing but white. The whole room at this point was just one solid plain colour. Slowly feeling my eyelids shut I felt myself drift off into nothing but now the colour black.

"Daniel please just wake up!"

I gasped for air as I opened my eyes with shock. I tightly closed them again due to the blinding light above me.

"Holy fucking shit!" I heard the same voice that was calling me before.

Once I reopened them I saw many familiar faces. Ben, Wayne and Aja? Everyone but Dan.

"What the fuck happened?" I asked but getting interrupted by her hug. I resisted. This was not the time.

"We thought we lost you Daniel." Ben said whilst smiling with his eyes bloodshot. Had he been crying? Jesus Christ, what the fuck happened? Was what I just experienced not real?

"Wait, start from the beginning. What actually happened?" I asked, perking up from what appeared to be a bed? No wonder the room was so bright and light, I was in a fucking hospital!

"You suddenly collapsed and you wouldn't wake up." Wayne said whilst scratching the back of his head nervously.

"When the fuck did that happen?"

"Two weeks ago. You've been in a coma ever since." Aja said swallowing back the tears.

Two weeks, 14 days. I was out for that long? No, they were lying. No way was it that long.

"Where the fuck is Dan?" I asked whilst trying to get out of the bed. Aja grabbed me by the shoulder stopping me from moving. She suddenly had a firm grip. I looked at her. At her face.

"They said if you didn't wake up today, it would be your last."

This whole situation was grabbing me by the brain. So basically all what just happened with well Aja dying wasn't true?

"Where is Dan?" I asked once more. This time I was hoping to get an answer. You could say I was reacting to all this way too much, but believe me, I was reacting perfectly.

"We don't know." Ben said avoiding all eye contact with me.

"What do you mean you don't know? He was in this hospital right, not like he just got up and walked away."

"Well yeah he did." Wayne interrupted.

"-Well not exactly walked away but he's no longer in the building so there's no further explanation to all of this."

"You're making shit up. He's here I know it." Yet again I keep finding myself refusing to believe the 'truth'. I highly doubt that they would lie about something as horrible as this but not like this happened everyday either.

"He's not Daniel. We've filed a missing person's report for him already. It's official. He disappeared a day after you had became unconscious."

"Shit we need to find him then, come on what are you waiting for?" As I said this I made my way past Aja, not even feeling a slight resistance from her this time. I made my way over to the door, limping.

Ben moved in front of me stopping me from getting past.

"Daniel, you need to get back in bed. You need to rest."

"What the fuck do you think I've been doing for the past two weeks then? I think I've had enough rest thank you." I tried to shove him out of my way but he wouldn't budge. Wayne then grabbed hold of me and started to forcefully drag my body to the bed. I felt him violently throw me onto the soft duvet.

"I've had enough of this shit Daniel! What the fuck has been happening with you lately?" He screamed.

"Wayne-" Aja interrupted.

"No. This is seriously doing my head in. The way you keep going after Dan as if you're trying to be some kind of hero, it's bullshit. Daniel, you're you, stop over estimating yourself for fucks sake!"

I've never seen Wayne this angry. Something about him changed within those rough 14 days I was out. Something bad. I was considering it was the fact of maybe the stress we had all been going through but I would have thought he would have been some what grateful for me to wake up.

"Listen Wayne, there's something not right going on here. In this whole place in fact. Which is why we need to find Dan." I tried to convince him but the look on his face wasn't what I was exactly hoping for.

"Oh shut up will you. And what will he do? There you go again with this Dan crap!"

"Wayne, calm down. Maybe we should at least listen to what he has to say. We're all worrying about Dan, especially after that camping trip. Maybe he has some answers." Aja sided. You could tell she too was wanting to find Dan as much as I did.

"Jesus Christ, you're all fucked up in the head!"

"Wayne could you swear even more?" Ben said as he slowly placed his hands on his forehead.

He sighed. Wayne made his way out through the door faster than I had ever seen him do before. He was known for over reacting sometimes but maybe not this much...

I looked around the room. Silence. We were all trying to get through our heads what just happened. Something was different about him. His temper was worse but not like I could pin point exactly why it was.

"Daniel, no matter what Wayne says you're not crazy. Me and Aja have been discussing this a lot lately and we want to know exactly what's been happening. Maybe together we could soon uncover where Dan is and what actually happened to us back at the camping trip that night."

I sat up at the side of the bed. Looking down I felt my face go warm and suddenly frustration over took me. I already know what's been happening. I need to find out more but would Aja and Ben really be much help?

"Please, we want to find Dan as much as you do." As Aja said this I felt her presence move next to me on the bed. A pitiful hand putting pressure onto my left shoulder. I looked up to my side.

I suddenly found myself nodding in agreement. Maybe having both Aja and Ben on my side would be helpful after all, I just hope they believe what I have to say.
