Try me.

"Now, how the hell do we get out of here?" Asked Dan looking around the room as if to find an exit.

"No idea, I thought from being here for a few days you would have already figured that out."

"Yeah totally. If I actually had, I wouldn't be here having this conversation."

"Fair point."

Suddenly, we heard foot steps coming from outside the door. Me and Dan both held our breaths, you could tell since the room became what felt completely silent. We turned to look at each other exchanging confused and horrified facial expressions.

Whatever was behind that door couldn't be that bad, could it? I mean, from what we've both experienced so far it would be pretty hard to top.

Just as I thought the noise was gone, the door slowly opened and a beam of light from what appeared to be a hallway lit the room. Out came a figure.

Aja.

"You're back then?" I snapped.

"Oh don't be so surprised Daniel. I was going to turn up eventually." She said whilst giving me a suspicious smirk.

"Aja, you're alive! What happened?" Dan said with a relieved smile on his face. Did he seriously think that was her? After the specific conversation we just had? Really Dan, really?

"Of course I am honey. Come on, lets get you out of this room and discuss it with some fresh food in your stomach. You must be hungry." As she said this she went to untie Dan. This was all going along way too smoothly for my liking. They both got up and were just about to walk out the door until Aja looked at me and said,

"Your turn next." And she was gone. They both were.

'Your turn next', what was that supposed to mean. You don't have turns for a meal? I suddenly felt sick to my stomach. What was she doing to Dan? I had to get there quick. As I was frantically trying to free myself from the rope I noticed that the door had been left open just an inch. Convenient but I'll take it.

I got up to my feet, despite the struggle since I could barely use my hands and arms in the process. At this point when I got up, I managed to loosen from the rope. Maybe I was a bit more pressured on the floor? Well I wasn't going to stand there debating on how I actually did it, I was going to save my best friend, Dan.

I opened the door slightly and checked to see if anyone was on patrol. It was clear. I squeezed through the gap of the door trying to avoid opening it more in case it made it obvious I was here.

When I finally got out, there was only one door in front of me. It didn't look very convincing. It was an old, wooden piece of crap that had chips and holes scattered all over it. Not only that but the door knob looked like it would break by a single touch.

"Get the fuck away from me! What the hell are you?" Dan's voice. It was coming from that room. I rushed in expecting to see something horrific.

But what I saw, was much much worse. I couldn't really describe it. All I saw was Dan on this metal table, just like the ones you would see on a horror movie where the weird creatures experiment on the humans, or something like that. In front of him actually was a 'weird creature'. I assumed it was Aja since who else would it be? No one else was really around to make it clear.

At this point she wasn't even what you could class as a human. It was some weird sort of fish type alien thing. It's skin looked slimy and it had long tentacles coming out of it's mouth towards Dan. It was as if it was trying to feed off of him. I felt sick.

Without hesitation I yelled the words,

"GET THE FUCK OFF HIM OR I'LL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS!" I don't know what I was thinking, bare hands? What was I? Some sort of superhero? No, I was just me. A drummer. I like unicorns, food, random stuff, just being me. There was no way on Earth I could kill that thing, trust me, or I already would have.

It stopped and turned around.

"You? You're just a puny human. You're as weak as a mouse compared to me!" It croaked.

I don't know why I said this, but it just came out.

"Try me."

Dan's face changed. It looked worried at the same time as scared. As if he was telling me to not do anything but what did I have to lose? Not like anything was going normal anyway, maybe this was just a 'dream', maybe it all was. And I'll wake up bright as a daisy in the morning. But that was all just fairytale talk, and this was the real world I was dealing with. Reality. There is no 'waking up' and everything turns out fine. No, you have to face whatever you're dealing with and that's when everything gradually gets better. Which is why I had to deal with this, not like I could just choose to wake up this time.
