The glass hit the wall with a force that immediately sent shards of it flying across the room. The sound of the glass shattering was like a bomb going off in a distance. It wasn't loud, but it was irritating to the ears. It was like a stone being dropped in the still water causing it to stir and thrash wildly.
"Have you lost your goddamn mind Altamash?!"
Idris had never looked this angry. His eyes were twitching with anger. His face was all red and he looked close to bursting into flames. Altamash was, however, unfazed by his angry tantrum. He expected it all. The throwing stuff around the room, getting angry and asking him questions. He expected it all beforehand.
Appearing as cool as a cucumber, he only tipped his head
"I've decided. It's what I'm going to do."
There were two more people present in the room. Humayun was quietly assessing the situation. He was always like that. Quiet but not absent. He was a very observant man. Nothing ever beat his eyes. He was so good like that. The other person was Mansha. She was sitting on the chair with her legs crossed over another. Her three inches Louboutin heels were adorning her feet while her nails were painted a deep red. She appeared unfazed. Like all that going around the room didn't affect her. Oh but it did.
Altamash could see wheels in her head turning and the gears shifting. She wasn't quite because she was listening. No, she was quiet because she was forming a plan.
"This will never happen. You're crossing your limits."
Altamash's stare riveted back to Idris as he spatted at him. Shrugging his shoulders, he stated
"I'm my own man. I've decided to tell you to save you the surprise, but it's a decision that isn't going to be changed."
Altamash knew he had hit the nerve because Idris literally marched at him that had both Mansha and Humayun straightening. Coming nose to nose with him, he gritted into his face
"Altamash, don't test my limits. Do you even have a fraction of a idea what you're about to do? You want to start a war with me?!"
Altamash smirked. He knew he would throw it. He knew his move was way too risky and one wrong move would combust everything to dust.
But he didn't come unprepared.
Smiling at his grandfather, he mused
"There isn't any war. You haven't done something to start a war or have you?"
The taunt was clear. Idris's nostrils flare at the open challenge. Altamash couldn't be more satisfied. He knew his grandfather was involved in the dirtier stuff. He didn't just had any proof yet.
He'll find some soon, eventually.
"I think that's all. I better take my leave now."
He didn't pry a glance at Humayun or Mansha and strolled straight to the door and left.
As soon as the door closed behind him, Idris lost his cool again. Banging his fist on the desk, his words came out laden with anger
"He's trying outsmart me. I'll stop him from doing this stupidity."
"You shouldn't do such thing."
Idris's dark eyes riveted to Mansha who was once again sat on the chair. A picture of elegant grace.
"May be you shouldn't bother with stuff that don't involve you."
Ignoring the patronizing jab, she leaned back in the chair, getting comfortable and threw her card.
