"I'm lost in the darkness residing in me... consuming my existence, bit by bit untill I'm left with nothing but ruins..."
Zainab Aqeel has lost her will to live. She's withering away like a flower does in fall...only she may never bloom again.

میدانِ امتحان سے گھبرا کے ہٹ نہ جانا تکمیلِ زندگی ہے چوٹوں پے چوٹ کھانا۔۔۔۔
The sky was blending into decreasing daylight and the beginning of night sky. The air once echoed with the call of Maghribprayer. The whole road was bustling with energy. People swarmed the roads, the alleys and streets. Green and white flags were waving with the wind. Children, women and man of all ages were pushing to get to the front view. The made up stage was adorned with the national flag and the flag of the party. Low music was penetrating the air as the crowd awaited the arrival of their leader. For it was the Jalsa of Irtiza's party.
The first address after he was shot and slipped into a coma.
Zainab's hands were constantly shaking. The nerves not letting her stay calm. Eyeing the large crowd, she couldn't help but feel a fear of doubt slip into her bones. Her feet began their constant pace. Her fingers fidgeting and the clouds of doubts surrounding her like a halo.
"Sit down, Zainab. It will all be fine."
Jaweria's voice barely reached her ears. She was too caught up in her nerves to hear properly. It was until Jaweria grabbed her shoulders to stop her from spiraling.
"Sit down, will you?"
She did but her hands never stopped shaking.
"Why are you so nervous? Calm down."
But how could she? The dreams had been almost a part of her life now. Each dream ending with Altamash falling to his knees, bloodied and wounded. Each time Zainab failed to save him. Each time he breathed his last, never to live again.
"I'm fine."
Jaweria tsked. Not believing her lie for a second.
"Should I call Altamash?"
The whisper of his name caused her heart to dive into a frenzy. She shook her head vehemently. No, she couldn't. She couldn't let Altamash be distracted after he prepared so hard for this Jalsa. He had to be focused. He couldn't afford any distractions. He needed his mind intact. His thoughts together to address the sea of people. One mistake and everything will be ruined. And that would be fatal. It would crush the party's image once and forever.
After drinking the glass of water Jaweria held to her lips, Zainab finally calmed down a notch. Her stomach was still backflipping. Her heart was still in her throat, but she was less feral than she was moments before.
"I'll go find Faryal."
Jaweria bobbed her head and Zainab went to find her Nand. Faryal proved to be very supportive during the preparation of the Jalsa. She stayed with Zainab when Altamash was out late, buried deep in critical planning and sorting out new tricks. It was one hell of an experience and today was the final showdown.
