Chapter 33

After we ate, Dailey took me around the hospital to see some of the other people that were in the program together. I started to have second thoughts on if I wanted to rejoin the program, but I didn't say anything. Dailey's pager went off , then another doctor's pager. In seconds, everyone's pagers went off.

"What is it?" I asked, peeking over to look at Dailey's pager.

Dailey looked over at me, "Something big. You remember how to get to your room, right?"

I nodded, "Tell me everything."

"I will." He smiled and ran off to the ER.

I got back to my room and sat on the bed. I took out my phone and called Michael. It rung three times before he picked up.

"You have to tell me something. I am so bored." I sighed.

"Do you want me to go there?"

"Please."

"I'll be there in a few minutes, love you."

"Love you too, Mikey." I hung up the phone.

A doctor with strawberry-blonde hair up in a bun walked into the room. I looked over at her and smiled. It was Melissa Carntey. She and I had the same resident when we were interns. Melissa came over and hugged me.

"Dailey caught me and told me you were here." She smiled.

"You should be dealing with the big problem in the ER!" I punched her lightly in the shoulder.

She chuckled. "Dailey said they didn't need me. Besides, I wanted to see if it was true."

"See if what was true?"

"That you married Michael Jones!" Melissa loved Rooster Teeth and was so surprised when she heard I was leaving the program to work there.

I held out my left hand and showed her the ring. Melissa grabbed my hand and looked at the ring. She smiled and hugged me.

"Congrats!"

"I'm getting discharged today and he's going to be here soon to get me."

Her eyes lit up. "Can I meet him?"

I nodded. "Just don't go all coo-coo or he'll get iffy about me coming back to work here, okay?"

"What?! You're going to work here again?" She was surprised.

I nodded and smiled. Dailey came in and handed me my discharge papers.

"I hope you know you're being let out early so you have to be extra careful, pigtails." He sat on the other side of me.

I signed the paper with a shaky signature and handed the papers back to him.

Both of their pagers went off. They each came me a hug before walking out. Michael came in a few minutes later. I grabbed my crutches and gave him a kiss. He led me to the car, which he borrowed from Em. and helped me into the seat. Then he put my crutches in the back seat and got in the driver's seat. Cherry jumped onto my lap.

"You brought her?"

"Thought you'd like to see her."

I smiled and held Cherry to my chest. "Can we go back to the office?"

"You can't."

"Oh come on! I literally just walked around the entire hospital. I think I can sit at a desk for a few hours." I frowned at him.

"Fine, but if you get hurt it's not my fault." He smirked.

When we got to the office, I put Cherry on her leash and gave her to Michael. He got my crutches and gave them to me as I got out of the car. We walked into the Achievement Hunter office and everyone turned to look at me. They were getting ready to film versus. I had the trophy since I beat Ryan last time. They all rushed over and hugged me. I sat down at my desk and turned my chair to face them.

"Ray, what are you still doing here?" I asked, he was supposed to be here for a couple of days to film some things.

"I stayed one last day to check on you."

I smiled at him. The camera started up so Michael helped me to my feet. Geoff did the regular introduction.

"Who's against Nagisa? Lindsay?" Geoff asked.

"It's me and Gavin I think."

It took a few minutes before we started playing and at least ten minutes before I won. I held up the trophy and everyone cheered. Then minutes later the camera was turned off.

"Hey guys I have something I want to say." I said.

Everyone looked at me, so I continued. "I might be going to work at the hospital again after my leg is all healed up."

I got a bunch of different reactions from everyone. Some were happy, some were mad, some were a mix of reactions, and Michael was just stunned. I hope they heard the might in that sentence.
