“D-Dante?” Echo fell back holding onto her shoulder while watching him walk closer with the decorated dagger.
“You know how I said it’s important on what’s on the inside?” Dante smirked while taking another step closer while she hissed at the burning sensation at her shoulder then pulled her hand away to see her blood, “I’d like to see those insides of yours.” His used to be blue eyes were now a glowing yellow, and another scream was about to leave her throat when a figure ran right into Dante like a running bull. Echo stayed quiet and it was quiet for a moment, but screamed seeing Dante’s body fall in front of her then looked up to see Ed jump from a tree.
“It’s Lucifer’s word!” Dante shouted and defended himself from Ed’s hand as Echo sat there in the snow feeling her fingers go numb from the cold snow.
“It’s my word!” Ed shouted back towards Dante and kicked him in the chest causing the air to be knocked out of Dante’s lungs.
“Y-You can’t . . .beat me.” Dante glared and just as Ed got close enough, the dagger from Dante’s hand was thrown skillfully into Ed’s chest.
“No!” Echo screamed then covered her mouth in shock, but Ed simply looked up towards Echo and was pumbled into the ground. But Ed’s foot kicked Dante in the abdomen; getting kicked Dante was thrown into a tree causing it to break.
“Echo has no right to die.” Ed glared towards Dante, quickly walking towards him, “I don’t care if you’re an assassin of Satan, I won’t let you kill someone under my eye.”
“What” Dante smirked as blood dripped from his lips, “Do you love this human?” A laugh left his bloodied mouth.
“No wonder Lucifer wants to kill her off, your distracted.” His eyes glowed a piercing yellow even more prominently, “You had so much potential.”
“I need no good word.” Ed glared and kicked Dante’s side as Echo just stayed in the sidelines watching the two fight while her own mental being was struggling to understand. Only she fell on her side grinding her teeth at the pain on her shoulder; it smelt like burning flesh so she removed her hand from her shoulder to see the burns on her hand from before was getting worse, and her shoulder was burning even more than before.
“You never knew what you had.” Dante spat at Ed only to get his neck stepped on.
“I only now know what I have.” Ed scowled towards him dangerously.
“Her?” Dante coughed struggling to breathe, “She’s just a human, you’re an incubus.”
“That doesn’t matter to me.”
“You’ll kill her either way.” His smirk annoyed Ed only that much more and crushed Dante’s neck causing his head to rip away from his body, and so Ed kicked the head away from Dante’s body then clicked his fingers to cause a flame then burned the body.
“You’ll be dead either way.” Ed spat at the burning body then quickly turned his attention towards Echo and found her form curled up in a ball, “Echo?”
“Ed?” She breathed struggling to sit up and winced.
“What’s-” Ed stopped and looked to see her wounded shoulder, “Did he do this?”
“Yes, but-” She looked towards him confused, “Dante?”
“What?”
“Dante, I never- why did he do this?”
“ . . .You didn’t know?”
“He went to my school.”
“He went-” Ed took a couple steps away and argued with himself about how he could had stopped this, “Why didn’t you tell me about him?”
