It began with rain. Soft at first. A quiet drizzle whispering through the tall trees of the forest, silver threads glimmering beneath a pale moon.
Johara stood alone in the clearing.
She didn't remember walking there. She didn't remember falling asleep. But the place felt familiar; the cool earth beneath her boots, the scent of wet cedar and moss filling her lungs. And something else.
