If all the world really is a stage,
then I am its best actress.
By day I put on my façade,
at night, lie on my mattress
and think of everything I’ve done
that cannot be reversed.
I lie there past the hour of one
believing my life is cursed.
I lie there crying silently,
tears rushing down my face,
knowing deep inside of me
I’m easy to replace.
Then slowly, as the sun appears
and darkness fades to light,
love begins to dry my tears
and again, I’m ready to fight.
