Harry's POV»
Tristan and the doctor entered the room at the same time and I guessed they had been in the hall outside talking. The doctor took Alice away and left me and Tristan to wait together.
"Why was Alice laying with you?" Tristan's voice was tinged with annoyance. His body was slightly tensed.
"We were talking and she was tired. The medication probably
made her drowsy." I was defensive. He looked ready to hurt someone.
All at once he deflated. His muscular body untensed and his facial expression dropped. "She spoke? She actually said more than a sentence to you?" He sounded almost defeated. He sat down in a chair and ran his hands through his hair.
"Isn't that what talking is?" I ask him.
"You don't understand. The last time something like this happened she would barely speak. She didn't talk for months. For months, I'm telling you." He let that sink in. "I don't know who you are, or what makes you so special, but don't stop now. She's already different since you've been here, and you haven't been around long. Whatever you doing is changing her; changing her back into the old Alice. You could save her. After everyone has tried everything else, you, of all people could save her."
"Save her?"
"Alice was this spark. But she lost control of something somewhere and ended up in a puddle. Her spark was lost. You're bringing it back, believe it or not. You just need to do one incredible thing to really start the spark back up. To save her." His voice is getting hopeful. Save her? One incredible thing? What could I do? There's nothing incredible about me.
"What could I do?" I ask. He knows her better than me.
"Aren't you in a famous band? Supposedly super talented?"
"Yes. And you can't have a good band without lots of talent and hard work."
"Alice loves music more than life." He states clearly. "But she pays more attention to the words of the song, so you need a meaningful song to get her attention."
A song? That's all I need?
But what song?
