A/N: Last chapter of this book! I enjoyed writing this oneshot collection book so much, and I especially enjoyed reading and responding to all the comments(ya'll made me laugh so much fr). Hopefully, Wattpad eases down on its crackdown of explicit content someday, and I can return to updating this work on Wattpad. Here's my ao3 link where I'll continue updating this work: https://archiveofourown.org/users/Notthisg1rlagain/works
I really enjoyed writing and experiencing this book with everyone. I hope I can do it again some day.

You lived in a medium-sized cottage in a place known as the Spiritual Forests. A place where spirits and humans from across the world can meet and live together. You enjoyed living in the woods alone, even if it meant potentially being alienated from the human town nearby. Luckily, the townspeople were nice and sometimes even went to you for herbs and food, since your garden was so healthy and bountiful that people believed it was blessed by a god. Your green thumb also earned you the extra benefit of suitors constantly asking for your hand in marriage.
"Miss Y/N, if you would just reconsider my proposal. It would be much safer for you to have someone living in the house with you," Jean exclaims, holding your hand and beginning to kiss your palm and forearm.
"Oh, Jean, I really don't see the need to. I've been living on my own for a while now. Plus, I could never trouble you with moving into the woods," You reply, putting your hands on his cheeks and backing up into your house.
"Y/N, please. The Japanese merchant, Kenji, has been missing for over three days since he entered these woods. You aren't safe here!" Jean protests, grabbing your wrist.
"Jean, I'll be fine."
You shut the door and quickly hurry upstairs to get ready for bed, unaware that your life was about to take a dark turn. By the time the morning sun shone on your face, the townspeople had already been made aware of the bloodshed that occurred last night. When you walked into town, you saw Jean's family crying in front of their house.
"Did something happen?" You whisper to another local.
"You won't believe it. Poor Jean didn't come back last night, and by this morning, they found his body all mangled in the backyard," She whispers, shaking her head in pity.
Maybe Jean was right when he said the woods weren't safe.
You decide to leave so you don't attract attention, and end up running into a previous suitor, Benedict, a French wine salesman.
"Y/N, I'm so glad I ran into you. I'm glad that whatever got Jean didn't get you," Benedict says, hugging you.
"O-oh. You really don't have to be that worried," You respond, awkwardly hugging him back.
"But I must. You are out there in that cottage all alone with who knows what, killing strong men. I can only imagine how disadvantaged you would be if you were to encounter this creature," Benedict says, kissing your hand. "It's only natural to worry about a fragile lady like you."
Benedict gets down on one knee and grabs your hand.
"I can't stand to see you in danger and not be able to help you in any way. So, will you please do me the honor of becoming my bride?" Benedict proposes, pulling out a silver ring with a white gem.
You feel everyone's stares on you. You know they expect you to reject him like all the others, but maybe just maybe Benedict was right that you needed someone to be with you. So, you say yes, earning cheers from everyone.
