Luke's P.O.V.
So here I am, 20 minutes past midnight, in the corner sipping at a beer I've had for two hours, when a gorgeous, I mean absolutely stunning girl makes her way over to me.
Be cool, Luke.
"Uh, hi. I'm Luke."
Failure.
She grins. "Hi Luke! Glad you could make it to my party."
Oh shit. Her party. She was definitely a popular kid. And I'm being a complete idiot. What do I say? She's giving me a weird look. Dammit.
"I'm Annie."
"Nice to meet you Annie. I'm Luke."
You already said that dumbass.
She giggles. Oh god. It's so cute.
"You already said that. But I forgive you. You're probably drunk out of your mind. But you seem like a calm drunk unlike those idiots." Annie said, pointing to the group screaming like wild animals.
I wasn't drunk. But I was calm. And nervous. Because, I mean, a pretty girl is talking to me.
Annie sits next to me.
"So Luke, how're you liking the party?" She smiles.
Perfect smile too. Be cool. Be cool.
"It's uh great. I don't go to many parties so I can't compare it to much. But it's a great party."
I'm such a loser. But she seems satisfied with that answer. She claps her hands together.
"Yay! It's my first party. I just moved here. I knew a few better known people who spread the word for me."

So that's how it went. We chatted for a little while before some guy, drunk out of his mind, pulled her away to dance. She said sorry and I didn't see her the rest of the night.
I probably would never see her again.
I shot up.
I'm on the beach. How did I get here? I looked around and looked behind me. I was in front of Annie's beach house.
I remember now. I was drinking at the end of summer party and wandered out here. I wanted to be alone. I wanted to think. But I must've fallen asleep.
I heard a quiet groan next to me and I was snapped out of my own thoughts.
I looked down and my eyes widened.
I'm dreaming.
I'm dreaming.
I'm dreaming.
There was no other explanation.
Because the person laying on the sand next to me couldn't be there.
But they were.
All wrapped up in a blue and green striped beach towel. A black swim suit peeked out from underneath the towel.
No. No. No.
I am in a dream.
Wake up! Wake up!
As I was begging myself to awake from this dream, more like nightmare, the figure in the beach towel turned and opened their eyes.
They gave me a warm smile but when they saw the panic in my eyes they sat right up and cupped my face.
"Luke?"
I took my eyes off the ground and looked into the most beautiful brown eyes ever.
"Annie."
