Chapter 28: Two Down, Four To Go

"Guys, what's wrong?" Laura asked.

Michael broke away and he wiped away his tears from his eyes.

I took a deep breath. "Luke's-" I was cut off by Michael kissing me. When he pulled away, Laura asked again, and I pushed Michael away from me this time.

"Is that what was wrong?" She asked.

"No, Luke.....He's dead. It was Calum" I finally said.

"What?!" Ashton said.

"He came ringing the doorbell, just repeating 'I'm sorry'. Then I told him to go kill himself"

"NO! They can't both be gone!" Ashton started crying. He looked down at Dani in his lap. She looked up at him.

"Lukey" She said to him.

"What?" He asked confused.

"Daddy" and she held up her penguin to him.

"Is that your penguin's name?" She nodded.

"She named it after her dad" Laura said.

"We need to get out of here" Michael said grabbing Belle.

Ashton picked up Dani and Laura held John's hand.

"Wait!" I yelled. "I'll meet you guys, just text me where you're going. I need to get something" I said.

"Kelly, I don't want you wondering around alone. What if he-"

"Michael, I'll be fine. Go" and I ran up the stairs.

I eventually found Luke's room. Saw his old backpack on the floor, dumped everything out of it, and piling important things in it, I finished, and did the same to Jess's, it felt weird being in here. As I was grabbing things, I saw a picture frame. It looked like Jess, when she was younger and she was with some boy, they were sitting on the grass, and smiling at each other. I grabbed it and put it in the bag. I finished, zippered up the backpack and called Michael.

"Hello? Kelly? Please, tell me you're okay! OH MY GOD, you're dead!" He rambled.

"I'm fine, where are you?" I said.

"My house. Hurry!" He said then hung up.

I made it to Michael's house and walked in and was tackled with a hug. "I love you, don't ever leave me again"

"Michael, I was just down the street" I laughed.

"So what did you need to get?" He asked.

"Some of Luke and Jess's things for Dani" I said. "Is Ash here?"

Michael pointed to his living room. "Ashton, I need to ask you something"

"Sure, what is it?" He asked.

I put the bag down and grabbed the picture from Jess's room.

"Here" I said passing it to him.

He looked it for a while and then a smile creeped up on his face. "Wow, I never knew she keep the picture. Michael you remember that day?" He handed it off to Michael. He had the same expression.

"Yeah, the day we meet Luke. We were playing in the driveway and Jess and Luke were on the grass. Your mom took the pictures of us. Here, Kel. That's a picture of Jess and Luke, when we were about 7/8 year old. Calum wasn't with us, he said something about being sick" Michael told me.

"Where did you find that?" Ashton asked.

"Her night stand next to her bed" I answered putting it back in the Luke's backpack. "I took almost all the photos they had in their rooms"
