Chapter 15
Jason's P.O.V.

"Hey Jerome. Umm... Why'd you come here?" I was nervous. If he was in a rampage and I wasn't careful, well, I wouldn't have any backup and bad things could happen.

"I followed the scent of the zombies so I could see if I was right about Ty being one of them, and it led me here." Jerome let out a sigh. "Let me guess. You followed me here?"

I gave a small nod. Not wanting him to dwell on that for too long though, I motioned to the worn down tower behind him. "Isn't that the tower where Seto was living when we first met him? What'd you find in there?"

Jerome sighed. "Yes, it's that tower. It's abandoned and reeks of the scent of the zombies. It seems as though they were here for a while. Seto's scent is in there too, but it mingles with the scent of the zombies and by the potency I think that they were both in the tower at the same time." My eyes widened at the news.

"Where's Seto though? You don't think he got hurt, do you?" I panicked slightly. If this really was Ty and his friends, they wouldn't attack Seto would they? They all seemed so friendly. Though they were still zombies, and hurting people seemed to be a part of a zombie's nature.

"Well Seto doesn't smell like an undead exactly, but with the stench of multiple zombies around, it is kinda hard to tell if he is normal or not." Jerome began to walk around, his nose twitching like crazy. "There's nothing saying he didn't survive in the tower for a while before running out into the forest to try and escape. He might've even left not long before we got here for all we know."

"O-okay." My reply came out as a mumble because my thoughts were elsewhere. Was Seto still alive? Was he okay? Would we be able to find him before something bad happened?

Jerome stalked around the clearing for a while before stopping between two trees going in a direction similar to the one we came here from. "The scent trail goes here! It's from around sundown!"

I ran over and the two of us took off into the woods. Both relying of Jerome's nose to make sure we were going in the right direction to find them.

Deadlox's P.O.V.

"Woah!" Jess cried out as we jumped around. We were going through the jungle back towards the cave, and Seto have used one of his splash potions so that we could jump higher to make traveling through the underbrush easier. We were still having a hard time keeping our balance. It was our first time using a potion like this after all.

Terra giggled as she hopped along. "I'm a bunny! Boing-oing!"

"Imagine how much cooler fighting while being able to jump like thins would be!" Claire laughed. "Not even bats can escape my blade's wrath now!"

I looked over at Seto to see him giving us bemused expressions as he jumped along side us like a pro. He has probably had a lot of experience using potions though. This problem wasn't anything new to him.

Noticing that we were getting close to the edge of the jungle, I also took note that the height of our jumps were slowly decreasing. At least if we had to walk, the foliage was much less dense here.

"I've never been in these plains before. They sure are riddled with mobs during this time of night though." Seto smiled as we all stopped where the two biomes met.

"Yeah." I sighed. "You think you'll be able to make it without getting hurt?"

Seto cracked a grin. "I have a potion that'll let us get over to your cave in no time! Just make sure to give a warning before we reach it so nobody falls into the hole where your place is hidden."

"You make it sound like we'll be going so fast we might not realize where everything is and accidentally hurt ourselves."

"Hurting ourselves is a risk. Yes though, we will be going fast. I like to call this potion the Sanic potion, but it is really called a Potion of Swiftness. Now gather round."

We all huddled near Seto as he chucked the potion at the ground causing the bottle to break and the potion to spread out and give us it's effects. Seto then also drank one his other potions from his bag. Catching a glance at the tag before he put the empty bottle away I noticed the icon for a Potion of Night Vision on a tag around the bottle's neck. I guess since he is a human, he would need one to be able to see like the rest of us.

Out laughter was probably heard for a far distance as we ran across the plains like they were tiny. It was fun to run around as fast as we were, but it took a little bit of getting used to before we could begin to lead Seto to our cave. I stayed near Seto with Claire as Terra and Jess ran ahead to make sure we didn't fall into holes in the ground. The other mobs would likely attack Seto so that's why we stayed near him, though I doubt they could land a hit just because of how fast we were.

As we all began to slow back down into a normal run, Jess gave a wave of his hand over his shoulder to signal that we were back at our cave. Home. I kinda missed it while we were gone, though I can't say I didn't enjoy hanging out at Seto's. Plus, now we'd be able to visit each other whenever we wanted without having to take the crazy long journey to get between each other's places. That would be nice. Maybe Seto could teach me how to make things explode like creepers do. That would be fun. I smiled as I remembered the one time I made a creeper super angry just so he would explode. The destruction entertained me tremendously.

"Feel free to put the teleportation thingy in one of the spare rooms." I motion to the rooms that had once been inhabited.

Seto looked at all the doors and furrowed his brow. "Are there more of you guys? Because that's a lot more doors than this place needs to have for you guys to live here."

"Yeah, well, there used to be more of us." I sighed and a slight gloom fell over everyone except for Seto.

He just walked over to one of the doors. It had two 'S's carved into the solid wood. "I think I'll put it in here." Terra's mood plummeted as she saw which door he had walked up to. She just turned around and ran to where her animals were probably waiting for her. Claire glanced after her with a frown.

"I'll go make sure she doesn't do anything stupid." She said before taking off after Terra.

Seto frowned. "What did I do? Will she be okay?"

"Yeah, she'll be fine. I hope." Jess nodded slowly. "It's just that Terra was really close with one of the guys that slept in that room. Claire was pretty close with the other. We haven't really touched these rooms since those who slept in them died. Bad memories is all."

Seto nodded slowly. "What were their names? If you don't mind my asking."

"Servo and Scratch." I sighed. Servo had helped Terra round up most of the animals we had, and had helped her take care of them. Scratch and Claire had been an unbeatable pair. They always had the other's back and both were equal in fighting skills. Both guys had been amazing. Servo had been trying to get a horse for Terra's collection, and hadn't made it back before sunrise. Claire had been running ahead of Scratch one time out of excitement and had been ambushed by humans. Scratch saved her, but died not long after.

"Oh." Was all Seto managed to get out. An uncomfortable silence fell over us as none of us knew what to say. Faint sobs could be heard down the tunnel Terra and Claire had disappeared into. The whole atmosphere had diminished greatly from what it had been when we had first arrived. "I'll... I'll just connect this room to my home and then I'll come back out and spend the rest of the night with you guys." We nodded as Seto walked into the room and shut the door behind him.

AN

Merry Christmas everyone! If you celebrate another holiday then I hope you enjoyed that! I know I have't worked on these stories as much as I would have liked to over the year, but over the past few months I've been going through something. It should get better from here on out, but because of it I have a bunch of homework I should be doing right now... Shh... Don't let my parents know. I hope to try and get another update out by new years or around then, but that might not happen. Fingers crossed it will though. Hope you all enjoyed the duel updates! Have a good night... or rest of the day, or morning... whatever thing I should say that pertains to the time you are reading this.
