Chapter 5
Deadlox's P.O.V.
We walked right into the trunk of the tree via a hidden door. It was crazy to say the least. We walked out of the tunnel that connected to the outside and into the middle of the trunk. There was a pool of water covering most of the floor. A small staircase lead up around the outside edge, but there was also a stone pressure plate near the very centre. I wonder what that's for.
Mitch ran forward and stopped just before the pressure plate. He made a small jump onto it, and then he jumped again. Let's just say he flew up into the air yelling happily. He moved through the air so we couldn't see him anymore because of the staircase. I though he had gone splat and died before I heard his voice float down from somewhere above us.
"Aren't you coming?" I looked up to see him leaning over the edge of a platform. I couldn't make out any details, but by his voice I could tell he was smiling.
"Of coarse Biggums!" Jerome bellowed before he to ran to the pressure plate. I heard him slurp as he flew through the air. I really don't understand these guys.
I heard Sky shuffle behind me. I turned around to look at him. He motioned towards the steps with his head. "You wanna take the stairs with me? Mitch helped you down that tree so I doubt you'll want to jump up that high." Sky said. I nodded my head and followed him. I don't think I'll be able to it at all.
~~--TIME SKIP OF CLIMBING BORING STAIRS~~--
When we reached the top of the stairs, Sky fell to the floor. I was used to walking long distances so this didn't bug me much."Too. Many. Stairs." Sky huffed.
"Well then maybe you should have jumped." Mitch's laughing voice came from the doorway. I looked in his direction. "Think fast!" He yelled throwing an apple at me.
It flew towards the space above my head. I jumped and grabbed it, but it hit off towards the side throwing me off a safe angle to land. I spun so I would be able to correct myself. I felt like I was dancing back at home. I landed in an awesome pose.
When I looked at Sky and Mitch they were just gawking at me. "What?" I asked.
"Dood." Mitch said. "How did you do that?"
"Do what?" I asked. That's just like what I did at home all the time so I was so used to it. Both of their eyes widened. I guess it's not normal for them to see somebody do that.
"How did you stick that landing? When you grabbed the apple you should have landed on your back or something." Mitch told me.
"It's hard to explain." I muttered.
"It kinda looked like you were dancing. Like when I found you!" Sky commented. "How were you able to do that though?"
"He was dancing when you met him?" Mitch asked.
"Yep!" Sky nodded popping the 'p'. "He ended in an amazing pose, but when he was dancing I couldn't hear any music."
"It's hard to explain, and I don't really want to talk much about my past." I muttered. "If you want to know why you couldn't hear any music, well my headset automatically connects to anything that plays music. I can change it so it doesn't if I want to."
"Okay then." Mitch replied."We might want to start showing you around. Jerome could be back any time now, and trust me, you don't want him running around showing you everything without letting you seeing anything at all."
~~--TIME SKIP OF AWESOMENESS AND TOURS~~--
"...And this is our music room." Mitch said. "We don't really use it that much and I'm not sure why we built it. I guess it's alright cause if we ever want to listen to music we crank up the volume so we can hear it throughout the whole house." I gawked at all the music. Back in the cave all we have was a jukebox with some records that the villagers didn't want. This, this was something else. A whole room dedicated to music. They had records laying around and a jukebox in the corner. They also had things that looked like miniature records, and a device I'm guessing they used to play the mini records.
I ran over to the double chest to see what music they had. They had the standard music discs, but they also had a lot of the mini record things. I looked of some of them. Pop. Rock. Rap. Dubstep. I had never heard of anything of the sorts. I grabbed the mini record that said 'Original Dubstep' and ran over to the wired machine. I really wish I knew how to work it.
I fiddled with it for a while, but I just couldn't figure it out. "Would you like some help?" I turned to see Mitch looking at me. Sky was nowhere to be seen.
"Yes please." I replied. He smiled and walked over. He hit a few buttons and it started to work. The device opened up. I put the mini record in the spot that it looked like it was supposed to go. Before Mitch could push the thing back in I asked, "Where's Sky?"
"He went to go find something to eat." Mitch chuckled push the thing back into its slot.
At first nothing happened and I thought something was broken, but then the music started. I instantly started dancing. I couldn't help myself. Mitch grinned and watched me for a while until he turned back to the device. I wonder what he's doing.
Suddenly the music was up at full volume. I shouted in surprise falling to the ground. It didn't turn down so I knew I had to disconnect. Jerome and Sky ran into the room as I yelled, "DISCONNECT! DISCONNECT!" My mic picked up the signal and instantly the whole room was full of the music.
I looked at the guys to see they were having a heated argument but I couldn't hear them. I can't tell if its because there's music blaring from the device or if I've gone deaf or something along those lines. Ugh. I close my eyes and lay my head on the floor, I can hear the music and its not very loud, but that's about it.
