Chapter 4

Deadlox's P.O.V.

I looked around amazed. We had just stopped for a break. It wasn't quite midday and we have already made it about halfway across the jungle.

Jerome stood up and motioned for us to do the same. "I wanna stop at the tree." He explained. What tree?

I growled in zombie about having to stand up since I was still tired. Jerome gave me a suspicious look before getting distracted by Sky.

"Okay!" Sky exclaimed. "Is Mitch there?" Okay... Now who's Mitch.

"Ya dood!" Jerome replied. Then he slurped. These guys are weird, I should have stayed home.

Home. The others didn't even know I was gone. They were still sleeping. I missed the cave, and the others.

I followed the guys until I saw a tree that was bigger than the other ones. Not by much, but there was still a difference. Maybe another reason I was able to spot the tree was the fact that it had building-like structures coming from it. The tree kinda reminded me of the village near the cave. So many buildings.

"Biggums! I'm back!" Jerome yelled as we got near the tree. Who's 'Biggums'?

I didn't have to wait long to have my question answered. A guy around the same age as the rest of us swung towards us on a vine. He had messy brown hair, and brown eyes. He wore a white shirt, with a red and black checkered hoodie. He had black pants and red shoes.

He let go of the vine and flew through the air before landing safely on the same tree as us. When he stood up I noticed he wore silver dog tags.

"Biggums!" He yelled running over and giving Jerome a hug.

"Miiiiiiiiitch!" Sky screamed running over to the new guy. He tackled him and gave him a hug. Lucky for Jerome who had just broken out of the hug with whom I assume is Mitch.

"Nice to see you too dood!" The guy who I think is Mitch replied. Then he noticed me. "Who is that?" He asked the others. Oh great. Just what I need. People talking about me like I'm not here.

"His name's Ty! I found him in a cave!" Sky explained.

"Hey dood! I'm Mitch!" Mitch grinned.

"Hi." I replied quietly.

"Not a loud one are you. No matter that'll change after you've been around Sky for a while." Mitch said. He started to laugh after Sky stuck his tongue out at him. In reply, both Mitch and Jerome made slurping sounds. This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

"I gotta go get something from my room!" Jerome stated. "You doods wanna show Ty around?" Both Mitch and Sky smiled and nodded in reply. "Then lez go!" He shouted running over to the edge of the tree.

Jerome jumped over the edge. I ran over to the edge to see if he was okay. I saw him grab a vine on the way down and swing safely to the ground. His laughter could be faintly heard for a while.

It wasn't long before Sky jumped over the edge. I watched as he did the exact same thing as Jerome, only he yelled the whole way down instead of laughing.

Now it was only me and Mitch on the top of the tree. I don't think I'm going to be able to do what Sky and Jerome did. Mitch must have seen the nervousness and doubt on my face because he asked, "Would you like some help down?" I nodded. He turned so that his back was facing me. "Hop on! I'll get us down!" He said.

I slowly climbed on his back and held on tightly. Before I knew it, the air was rushing past my face. I could see the ground coming up to meet us. I squeezed my eyes shut.

I braced myself for the impact. The impact never came, but instead I suddenly felt a tugging motion upwards, and we were moving slowly downwards, but quickly side ways at the same time.

I felt a small thud from beneath me and Mitch said, "You can let go now. We're on the ground." My eyes flew open to see that he was right. I let go of him, and fell over. Mitch started laughing and came over and helped me up.

"Thanks." I mumbled. He smiled at me before heading towards the tree.
