Lizbeth's POV
I felt my heart drop to low that I felt sick to my stomach with a mixture of my heart thumping out my chest. I stumble back a bit, I could feel Aaron grasp my arm, everything felt blurry, my heart having palpations making my head feel warm. I turn around without saying a word and walk away. I walk past everyone not caring if I'm shoving people out of my way or having anyone give me bad looks because I didn't say "excuse me" I walk into the bathroom locking the door behind me. My heart still feeling like was skipping beats repeatedly, I slid down the wall crying, holding my chest as I cry.
I hear knocking on the door. I wipe my eyes and sniff trying to contain myself from crying more.
I hear knocking again but I don't get up to open the door, hesitant almost like I'm scared that if I open the door I'll see Derek on the other aide. I want to be left alone in my own thoughts, why was Derek back? I can't understand what gave him the right to come after what he took from me, how he hurt me and left me that night in pieces.
"Lizbeth" I hear Aaron's voice on the other side of the door
"Lizbeth please answer...he's gone" Gonzalo says. I sniff wanting to dry again but I hold my breath
"Beth...I told him to get out, to stay the hell away from you" I hear Gonzalo's voice, of all people I wasn't expecting Gonzalo to be on the other side of the door.
"Beth...we're here just come out" Fernando says
I slowly get up because I know the guys won't leave until I come out or say something. I'm about to unlock the door but don't. I hold the door Knob and speak.
"Are you sure?" I ask as I felt my voice wanted to break
"Yes" Gonzalo says. I get this feeling he's trying to redeem himself but also make up for what he did and I can't help but feel like I want to give him a second chance. I know deep down Gonzalo is sweet and considerate, he just hides it very well and always has.
I unlock the door and step out wiping my eyes so they don't see my mascara. Their eyes on me, so concerned yet sad for me almost. I hear steps running towards us, we look back to see Ricardo jogging over to us.
"I came...as soon...as possible" Ricardo says out of breath "where's that son of a bitch" he says
"He's gone" Gonzalo says
"Are you okay?" Aaron ask grabbing a hold of my arms. I nod in response
"Where did he go? I thought he wasn't coming here" I say
"He's not, he's not even enrolled here...I told him to go" Gonzalo says looking at me
"You said that?" I ask almost surprised
"Yeah" he says giving me an awkward smile
"Which proves our point, he's come to only for you" Clara explains. The guys nod in response
"Well I'm fucked, I don't want him near me" I say shaking my head lightly in response
"We'll protect you, all of us" Fernando says stepping forward to hold my hand im comfort
"No guys I-i don't want you guys to feel pi-
"No one is feeling pity, we just want to protect you. We don't think you're broken or fragile. We know how much that night" he stops and looks at everyone else before clearing his throat "...hurt you and we don't want you to relive those moments" Gonzalo explains
"Thanks...I really appreciate that coming from you especially" I say. He nods in response
The bells rings signaling kids getting to their designated class rooms.
