Aaron's POV
I get home just on time to see my father and my mother chatting in the kitchen. I didn't see Alejandro or William around, I hang my bag on the hanger near the door and make my presence known. My parents shoot their attention towards me placing the wine glasses down, I think sometimes they get a hint of embarrassment when I walk in to see them drinking wine during the day.
"Mijo! How was school?" My mom asks enthusiastically. My parents were very heavy wine drinkers but not to the point where they'd get drunk. Sometimes I thought it was to show how rich and "fancy" they were but we were from fancy and classy. Yes we were rich but that didn't fill up the wounds that were still open in this house.
"Fine" I say walking into the kitchen resting my arms on the counter. My dad places his glass on the counter
"Better grades?" He ask
"Yes better grades" I say in a monotone voice. My dad and I haven't always had a very tense relationship. It all really started when I entered middle school, I started hanging out the wrong crowd and there was a time, me Gonzalo, and Ricardo got caught vandalizing and that's when Fernando caught us and shit just went down from there because after that my father became more tough on me. Fernando and I were good friends as kids even though our dads seems to always have tension between each other but that didn't stop us until that day that he turned in me out of the blue. Now that we're in high school we're- at least k am trying to make things right for the sake of Lizbeth.
"Que bueno, I hope you're ready to go down to my office. Go get your brother" he says. I say nothing but doing what he has asked me to do.
"No le hables así" my mother said. I could hear mumble it to my dad but I obviously could hear it. I didn't see or hear what my dad had to say and quite frankly I didn't really want to
I go upstairs and knock on William's door and the door open to reveal William wearing his game headset. After soccer practice he'd come straight to his room and play video games, very typical adolescent behavior.
"Are you coming down to the office?" I ask
"Nope, dad said it's just you and ale" he says. I nod and walk off hearing him close his door
I knock on Alejandro's door and I hear "come in" I open the door and see Alejandro on his desk sorting some papers for I don't know what
"Hey, dads asking if you're ready" I say
"Yeah just sorting some papers he gave me before we leave" he says
"Papers for what?" I ask walking over to his bed and throwing myself onto his bed
"Just transactions, deliveries, orders, sort out all the money being spent, given, if everything looks right" Alejandro says
"Sounds....boring" I say. Alejandro shoots me a stern look with a smirk sort of forming on his face
"What? You expect a teenager to care? You're in your late twenties. I see why it's not boring" I say
Alejandro sorts the papers together and gets up from his desk holding the papers in one hand.
"Alright let's go" he says. I forcefully get myself up from off his bed and we walk downstairs to meet my dad at the front door
"Alright boys let's go" my dad says opening the door
"I'll have dinner ready by the time you boys get home" my mother says
We step outside and walk over to my father's SUV getting in. Obviously Alejandro in the front and myself in the back.
