My phone's alarm rang, causing me to cover my ears. Picking up my phone, I snoozed the alarm and looked at the time. I had 20 minutes to get to school.
'I'm so fancy

Once again, my phone rang the song 'Fancy' from Iggy. I recognised the number to be from my Modelling Company, since they're song -which I chose- was Fancy. Picking up my phone, I answered.
"Hello?" I grumbled, rushing to the bathroom to do my morning routine.
"Hello Melissa. We would like to ask if you'd like to work nearly every day? There will be a price raise if you'd like. Thanks," A voice similar to Anna asked. (Anna is the girl who asked me embarrassing questions!)
"Oh my God! Yes, please! That'd be awesome! So... Wait, when? Which days?"
"Everyday except Monday and Thursday. Some Sunday's will also be a holiday." She replied. I gasped.
"WAIT! Today?!" I shrieked, running out of the bathroom towards my closet.
"Yes today, sorry for the short notice. Well, I have to get going. See you soon Melissa!" She called, ending the call.
"Dang it!" I cursed, pulling nearly all my clothes off the hanger and onto the floor. Then I remembered my mom leaving.
"Oh God! Screw it. I'm missing first period." I muttered to myself, calming down and slowly looking at all the outfits in the room. I was sure Mrs. Roth wouldn't mind, she was really nice to me since I was the 'good girl' of the class. Deciding to leave the outfits for later, I ran to the bathroom and took a 10 minute shower.
Picking out a fuzzy one sleeved violet dress with a second layer of lace covering it from underneath the bust, I ran over to my cabinet of accessories and shoes and took out a pair of purple pumps. Using one hand to put on the shoes, I used my other hand to flatten my hair. After putting on the shoes with my left hand, I added blush, lip balm, eye shadow and mascara.
I finished off the look with a violet studded bracelet, weaved by my mom. Sighing, I stood up and grabbed my bag before trudging down the stairs. It was eerily silent to say the least. Taking out my phone, I checked the time and quickly raced to the kitchen. I had less than 40 minutes to get to school before period 2 starts. Luckily, I already had my period 2 books with me in my bag. But, I still had to say goodbye to my mom. I grabbed the pancake mix and all the pancake toppings before setting the pancakes on a pan. Starting the fire, I flipped the pancake and waited until it was half-burnt.
I took a deep breath before entering my mom's huge bedroom.
"Hey sweetie." My mom said. I headed to her bed before placing the tray on her lap.
"Breakfast in bed!" I sang, dancing around the room. She let out a laugh that I adored and luckily got. I laughed along with her before sitting next to her on the bed.
"I love you Mom." I whispered quietly, but loud enough for her to hear.
"I love you too. Don't think this is a goodbye, I'll see you soon. Now come on, you have to go to school." She smiled, patting me on the back. I nodded before blinking down the tears that threatened to fall out. You see, my mom's never left me alone for more than two nights, and since my dad passed away, my mom never left me alone for more than one night. Heading out of the room, I ran back downstairs before grabbing my bag and opening the door.
"Bye hon. Love you! Did you have breakfast?" She asked, running halfway down the stairs.
"Yeah, I stole some of your delicious pancakes." I smirked. She playfully glared at me before stomping back up loudly. I laughed before walking out and closing the door behind me. My hand lingered on the golden knob for a while before I opened the door a tiny bit and shouted a bye before slamming the door shut and running towards my car. Checking my phone for the second time, I realized I now had less than 15 to get to school. Starting the engine, I raced to school.

At lunch, the whole cafeteria was bubbling with excitement-mostly the girls.
"What's up?" I asked to the girls. Laura shrieked excitedly before throwing her arms around me.
"Kayla and Jakie broke up! They broke up! Melissaaaaaaaaaa! You have a newfound chance with him!" She shrieked in my ear. I face palmed before pushing her away.
"Yeah yeah. Big deal. Like I care." I muttered.
"NO BIG DEAL?! It's a huge deal!" Laura cried. I shot Nina a look to help me, but she just sat there smirking. I glared at her before turning back to Laura.
"Whatever. Just eat your lunch. You guys are annoying as fudge." I complained, sitting down and beginning to eat.
Jake broke up with Kayla? Or Kayla broke up with Jake? Cuz last I checked, Jake likes Kayla.

After modelling, I headed straight home. I was hoping maybe my mom was joking and all of a sudden she'd hop out from behind the table and surprise me.
Yeah, I said hope. Not sure.
Sighing, I pushed open the heavy door and peeked inside.
"Mom?" I whispered, the dark was scaring me. Flicking on the lights, I closed my eyes.
But nothing happened. Legitimately nothing. I groaned before heading to the kitchen and cooking myself some dinner. All of a sudden, someone's crying sounds was heard from outside my house. Turning off the fire, I ran outside and saw Kayla leaning against Jake's door crying.
"Jesus. What are you doing here?" I snapped. She looked up at me sadly before walking over and throwing her arms over my shoulders. All I could do was stand there looking surprised.
"I-I'm sorry for everything! I-I'm so sorry Melissa!" She sobbed. crying into my shoulder. Her arms tightened around my neck as she did so.
"Are you trying to trick me? Or kill me? Cuz you're squeezing my neck like it's the end of the world." I hissed. She sighed before removing her arms off my shoulders.
"I really am sorry. I didn't mean to do anything I did to you. It was all just plain jealousy. You were always the lucky child. But now, I have my lesson learnt and I now know that what I did was wrong. Please forgive me." She whispered. I guess she didn't do anything, it was Alex who cheated on me, not her. Well she did, but it was Alex's idea.
"Fine." I muttered. Something appeared in her eyes, something I couldn't decipher. Then it disappeared just as fast as it came.
